So this is Devon's page. As I've mentioned before, Devon has ADHD. His medication, methylphenidate (also known as Ritalin or Concerta), causes delayed growth. Not stunted, just delayed. So Devon will be 15 in August and has yet to reach 100 pounds. He's taking the summer off from the meds, in hopes of putting on some weight. 5 more pounds and he'll hit three digits! That's our goal. The way he's eating, I'd be surprised if he didn't make weight easily and maybe a few more pounds!
Devon used to dance ballet. And he was good. But, being a small boy who dances, he was often picked on. I think it took its toll after a while, and at the beginning of ninth grade, he quit.
Devon is also very artistic. He wants to do something in the arts when he's an adult. He sings and is learning guitar. He would like to become a cartoonist, but realizes that he'll need to get a degree in something more employable and work on his cartoons on the side. He's thinking about becoming an art teacher. I think he'd be an awesome art teacher! |
