Chrismas Gifts 2001
This is the muffler I made G. out of burgandy superfine merino boucle and matching burgandy merino/silk/cashmere blend 8-ply yarn. It's a much darker hue that the camera reflects.

G. got lucky because she also got a present that was supposed to be for someone else who needed a bigger size.  It's the fairisle hat she's modelling below.
It was the first thing I ever knit in the round.  It was made on size 6 needles with worsted weight Lambspride in dark blue and Lopi Lite in heathery peat-brown.
The pattern came directly from the great book "Homespun & Hand knit".  It's called the Mushroom Cap & it's just a really simple fairisle technique.  Here's a detail:
