Written by darrenfranklin@yahoo.com

Welcome to Lite show! This Palm OS application is designed to bring features of presentation software to Palms. It uses a show and page metaphor, where pages are part of a show and appear in a set sequence. Beaming support is included so you can share you shows with others, using the 'Lite Show Viewer' application. There are a variety of uses that this software can be put to, the following are some examples: This software is released as share ware, and as such you are allowed to try the application for 30 days. Once this time has expired the application will stop the creation or editing of shows, it will however continue to view existing shows. Please register at www.palmgear.com to get the full version which will not expire.

How to use

The application is very easy to use. The following is 10 steps to create a 2 page show.

Step 1:
Start the application - its the icon of a slide show projector

Step 2:
Click the NEW button to display the New Show form. On here you enter the show title an optional name, and whether you would like to password protect this show. Click OK when done.

Step 3:
Click the EDIT button to display the list of pages in this show. As this is a new how there are none shown.

Step 4:
Click the NEW button to display the New Page form. This is a list of the available page types with an example picture on the right hand side. It is usually a good idea to start with an opening page, so select 'Title' on the list and click OK when ready.

Step 5:
The Title Page form is displayed, enter 'A title page' into the field and click OK when done.

Step 6:
You are returned to the list of pages. Click the NEW button and we will add a 'Bullet'' page this time. Click Ok when ready.

Step 7:
The Bullet Page form is displayed, into which we enter a title of 'Some bullets'. Bullets are added by entering some text then entering Return to move to the next line. This signifies the end of that bullet and the start of a new one. Enter 'one', 'two' and 'three' as bullets then click the OK button when ready.

Step 8:
You are returned to the list of pages, where you can reorder the pages using the scroll up and down button on the bottom right of the screen. Select the 'Some bullets' page and click the STYLE button.

Step 9:
The Page Properties page is shown. You can select the transition and font options using this form. Ensure 'Use separator lines between text?' is selected and select 'Wipe L-R' as the transition. Click the OK button when ready.

Step 10:
You are now ready to run the show, either go back to the main screen and press the PLAY button or select 'Play Show' from the menu.

Controls:
Use the scroll up and down buttons at the bottom of the Palm to move forwards and backwards in the show, and tap the screen to end it. Transitions can be ended with a press of the scroll down button.

Congratulations you have created your first show! Now experiment with the other options in the application, for example try multiple bullet pages with the overwrite transition to show the bullets one at a time.

Beaming

Beaming allows people to share shows. To do this an application needs to exist on the Receiving handheld, this can either be a full version or the Viewer. If nothing already exists choose 'Beam Viewer' from the applications menu to send a copy to them. Follow this by 'Beam Show' to send them the show to view.
You may want to give the show a Password prior to this to stop them from altering its contents.

Registration

Please register at www.palmgear.com to get the full version of this application, which does not have the 30 day limit.
