| This May, the stagnant suburban swamp of Livonia, Michigan will witness a desperate, wailing cry to the Broadway and Hollywood of a distant yesterday: Slander is Grander. "Kiss Me, Kate" meets an acidic, modern portrayal of corporate America in the only format that serves justice to the art of theater: a musical! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| "Slander is Grander" opens May 26th and 27th at the Black Box Theater inside of Churchill High School. Directed and choreographed by the professionally experienced senior Jennifer Koralewski, the show is completely original and student produced with over 20 original songs by the musical's creator, Michigan State Award-Winning playwright and jazz musician Kristofer P. | SYNOPSIS: "Slander is Grander" plummets through every imaginable layer of comedic satire in today's business society all while maintaining an atmosphere of timeliness and vintage romance. The story tracks the down-trodden employees of "The Daily Pry", the "largest and falsest tabloid publication in the world." However, everything gets shaken up when a makeshift con artist and a renegade coffee tycoon both spot the tabloid's head reporter as their one chance to scramble to the top. All concludes in a state of muddled ideology and broken morality, hence the prevailing concept of "Slander is Grander". | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
