| Haughton handed debuts to new singing's Richard Forsyth, Robert Brown and Stuart Jeanes but this couldn't prevent Haughton losing there opening match of the season. Hauhton started slowly and maybe nerves got the better of them as they lost the first set 20-25. Coach Keith Sowden made some tatical changes and some fast attacks from middle hitters Ian Buckle and Mike Mitchell saw Haughton take the next set 25-23. In the third set Haughton were full of confidence and some excellent setting from captain Stephen Talbot saw Hauhton take the set 25-20. Haughton started the fourth set brightly and were leading 21-18 when a couple of mistakes on the service reception saw Milton Keynes pull level. Milton Keynes now had the momentum and took the set 22-25. The experience of Milton Keynes showed as they played with confidence and took the match 9-15 to win the fifth set. Ian Buckle was named man of the match for Haughton. Haughton must hope for better things next week against Compass leicester |
