| A dark comedy about a once happily married couple (Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas) who figure out that they can't stand each other. Neither one of them want to leave the house that he bought and she decorated and it becomes a competition to try to force the other to move out. In the American Society of Cinematographers the movie was nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Cinamotography in Theatrical Releases for Stephen H. Burum. In the BAFTA Awards it was nominated for Best Screenplay - Adapted for Michael Leeson. In the BMI Film & TV Awards David Newman won the BMI Film Music Award. Danny DeVito was nominated in the Berlin International Film Festival for the Golden Berlin Bear award. In the Casting Society of America David Rubin was nominated for Best Casting for Feature Film, Comedy. The film received several Golden Globe nominations for Best Motion Picture - Comedy/Musical, Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy/Musical - Michael Douglas, and Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy/Musical - Kathleen Turner.
