| I hate war movies but I love Memphis Belle. Okay aside from the fact that more than three quarters of the actors in this movie fall in the men I'd like to marry category we can't shun the fact that they are all very talented. The "Memphis Belle" is a bomber plane in World War II. It is being sent on it's final mission where a young, sexy crew of men have to bomb some wearhouse factory looking place that has weapons (sorry, I've never really watched the movie for it's content) without killing the civilians or getting themselves killed. The movie was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Original Film Score - George Fenton, a British Society of Cinematographers Award for Best Cinematography by David Watkin. It won the Evening Standard British Film Award for Best Technical/Artistic Achievement - David Watkin and was nominated for Fantasporto for the International Fantasy Film Award - Best Film - Michael Caton-Jones. It was released October 12, 1990. | ||||||||||||
