Waterbed:
When buying a waterbed check out those mattresses. A year ago I bought my family water beds and I feel the mattresses were used because already two beds have developed holes. If this happens try to remove the bed to a place to dry. The water can ruin the wood.
Cleaning big messes:
Everyone needs to own a ShopVac and a SteamVac (the kind that does all floors). These two pieces of equipment turns what looks like a big problem into a small problem. As for the carpet, the spot can be cleaned before the stain sets in. Remember problems may occur at night when the store is closed. So you cannot always run to the store to rent that Rug Doctor.
