The Dachshund was first recorded through the years of 1550 - 1850 by hunters who had recognized this breed incredible hunting abilities. The Dachshund was first introduced to the United States between 1879 - 1885 when 11 Dachshunds were in the 11th copy of American Kennel club studbook. The Dachshund arrived in England a little earlier in the 1850's after Queen Victoria's German husband brought it into their household. During World War 1 and World War 2 , the Dachshund gained popularity again . The Dachsund will always stay true to it's origin, remains one of the most beloved breeds.
