The Dachshund arrived in England a little earlier in the 1850's after Queen Victoria's German husband brought it into their household. Standard of the Dachshund for breeding or show recognizes only two sizes, Miniature, 11lbs and under at 12 months of age and Standard usually 16 to 32 lbs.
