| Dachshunds are low to the ground, long bodied, short-legged and well-balanced dogs. Originating in the European Countries, they were used for hunting small prey. Dachshund, meaning badger dog, is a hunter by scent and also goes to ground. The Official AKC Standard of the Dachshund for breeding or show recognizes only two sizes,Miniature, 11 lbs and under at 12 months of age and Standard usually 16 to 32 lbs. Several colors and patterns and three coat types, smooth, longhair and wirehaired. We specialize in the mini smooth variety. We occasionally have puppys available to good homes. Our puppys come from a very good champion bloodline. |
