The Path Of The Hero
Episode IV: Training Day
The next morning Alexander woke me up long before the sun arose. At about four thirty we left a note for my dad and ran to a training field. He gave me a cup of coffee and told me I had a minute to drink it. I sipped it and then he told me to down it. I questioned him, I didnt want to gulp down boiling hot coffee.
Those magicks the demons use are going to be a lot hotter than that! He said.
So I gulped it down feeling it scold my throat. Then I felt it cool in my stomach.
Then he told me to stretch. I stopped asking questions and did what he said.
By now the sun was breaking the horizon. Judging it was about seven. He told me to fire my energy blast at him. I agreed and began to charge it up. Then he told me to do it at stage two.
You have to be joking! I screamed. Then he scolded me for questioning him. I charged the energy blast up powerful and fired it. But I realized he had created a shield of magick that absorbed my blast.
I wasnt aware of such powers. Then he told me to use the astald blast. I fired it. He also fired a ball of energy toward me. It was much smaller than the astald blast. After he fired it he hit the ground to dodge my attack. I wasnt worried there was no way an attack that small could have overtaken the astald blast.
Just then I watched the ball pass directly through my energy. I didnt have time to duck. I threw my arms up into a block. It his me but I held it off.
Then It went strait down my throat. It burned; it felt like it had entered my stomach. It was like drinking acid. I fell to my knees. I knew I was dying. That Alexander had made a mistake. I went blind. All I could see was darkness. Finally I couldnt stand it anymore, I threw up. I then fell over in relief.
Congratulations, the last person I used that on was turned inside out. You are strong. He said.
The training only got harder from there. It seemed that until that point I had been depending on my natural ability to hold the demons off. I would not have to be all in all superior to them.
Finally the time came until I was to face against Doronkia again. Zebediah, Alexander, and I were ready to go. I think Zebediah thought he was going to save me if I lost. I knew Alexander wouldnt allow that. This would be a fair fight to the death.
On the way to the battle field I sat in the back seat and meditated.
I knew I would have to kill Doronkia. To be honest, he made it easy emotionally.
I have met many demons over time; some of them were very polite and honorable. They looked at battle as a competition to gain a prize.  But some demons were rude and cheap. They had battle confused with murder.
We arrived at the cave. I stepped out of the car and began to charge up. I harnessed my energy and easily reached maximum limit and eventually stage two.
I knew he heard me screaming when a red triangle shape blast came flying at me.
I ran up the car and did a handless cart wheel over the blast.
When I looked up Doronkia was right in front of me. He punched me but I didnt even feel it. Then I planted my forearm into his head. Then he tried to kick me and I caught his leg. I did a jump spinning heel kick into his face over his leg.
He attacked aggressively. He fought as fast as he could move. I blocked his attacks easily.
I was amazed that within one month I had become so powerful that an upper class demon couldnt even faze me.
Finally, I caught his hands. Who are you? He asked terrified.
I am the Darkwolf, student of Zebediah and Alexander, Best friend of the late Brently, companion of Torilonos who youve slain, and the nightmare of demons like you! I stated then I head butted him.
Then I grabbed him and spun him around then launched him into the air. On his way down I side kicked him almost forty yards. He landed on a wall outside of the cave. He hit so hard it caused the wall to break through and create a larger entrance.
He stood up and fired a magick attack. I could tell it was out of desperation. I took it without flinching. It hurt but I had learned how to resist the pain.
My turn, I said. Then I fired the energy blast barely charging it at all. When the smoke cleared I saw him trying to get up.
I walked up to him, he began to beg for his life. I used a new technique I had learned. I stuck my hand in the air and formed an invisible sword called night blade, it was made entirely of energy.
I used it and with one swipe Doronkias head rolled up to Alexanders feet.
Alexander told me to drink his blood and I did what I was told. I could feel the life giving liquid flow through me almost instantly. His strength, his techniques, his life force became mine.
Alexander applauded and I looked at him with demon blood dripping from my chin. Streamers were coming from my body in all directions.
It was a battle well fought, Alexander said. Then he smiled at me. I came down from stage two and smiled back. We grabbed hands at the thumbs and turned and looked at Zebediah. He looked back at us then placed his hand on top of ours. Then he said, I think the odds are finaly in our favor.
