Story
Back
Thousands of years ago a great accident befell those of our race and its survivors were scattered to the four winds. One group of survivors, consisting of five females and three males, made their way through the savage terrain of this alien world. Lien was their guide, using her sight to find a place of complete safety. Following her inner light she led her small group up a hazardous mountain range, finding their safe place at the peak of the tallest mountain in the Dragons caves.
While exploring the caves Lien came upon a female dragon with newly hatched young. Perceiving the intrusion as a threat the new mother attacked Lien. Savyn, following Liens screams, ran into the cave and, in a panic, attempted to send to the beast, desperately trying to calm it down. The Dragon looked in his direction and shocked him beyond words when it spoke to him. Hearing that she had been defending her young he quickly explained who they were and why they were there. By the time he gained the Dragons trust it was to late to help Lien. Savyn became leader to this small band of elves and despite this rather rocky beginning the elves and Dragons became fast friends.
As their civilization grew the Healer Galein thought to honor Lien in some way, because it was she who led them to this new home. He created a circlet and placed a blood crystal at the brow. He them etched a symbol into the crystal that he called the Eye of Lien. When he presented it to Lord Savyn he stated the Eye of Lien would guide them in all things.
The castle itself was carved (Later shaped) out of the face of a cliff not far from the Dragons caves. The three towers represent the three magical houses of Darkwind; Lien, Savyn, and Galein. This came to be when Savyn learned from the Dragon Shaira that he, all elves for that matter, could learn to use magics that they had not been born with. Shaira taught him to use the magic crystals that seem abundant in the Dragons caves. After experimenting with the crystals himself for a time he revealed these facts to his companions. Fascinated they learned; as their numbers grew the differences in magics became more and more apparent and Savyn divided them into different houses for learning.
This society grew and thrived under these conditions and still today is a prominent magical civilization. They have their share of troubles, the most recent being the disappearances of children and something strange stirring in the woods.

At least that is the way things WERE.
Neryssa, in the strange form of a shadow, killed Lord Belthran and Ariana, before she could warn Lord Donovan of her visions. While Alesca and Neryssa were sure that everything was going as planed Saira called Lord Donovan to the Eastern Tower. She told him everything, right before jumping to her death. In spite of the warning Alesca and Neryssa escaped Dark Wind and now reside in the human ruins in the valley where they had been conducting their experiments.
A group of elves from DarkWind, guards and those strong in magic went after them and never returned.
Lord Donovan has taken over DarkWind, much to the displeasure of the council of Ancients. He has changed a few points of the leasons; he completely cut out the seperate houses and has been encouraging everyone to work on their magic skill, no matter their station.

Imediate Play
Members of each tribe have or will join the Dark Ones, either voluntarily {only 3} or involuntarily as experiments. Daily life will go on until someone gets the bright idea to trap Alesca and Neryssa in the living crystals. Again, daily life until someone figures out how to get them to the crystals to trap them and actually succedes. Then we will move on.
