My Art

Here's a small collection of artwork. I still have yet to upload all of it, but I like what I have so far. As you scroll down this page, you'll see a large jump in skill level (hopefully). Half of these were uploaded about a year ago. The ones closer to the top are the more recent ones. Hopefully they show a bit more artistic understanding.

This is an unfinished outline for art class. The assignment was to create a 60's style illustration of our favorite musical artist or band. I chose the somewhat obscure but totally awesome Jill Sobule. I think I've got a pretty good likeness. Once it's colored, I'll replace this version with the colored one.

This is the newer older incarnation of the old Elaine Gunstar, further down on this page. Basically, she's the personality of the modern age Elaine, but stuck in the middle ages. I like how this one came out. I'm not accustomed to using open canvas, but I think this turned out rather well.

This is the first in a large series of pictures (three of which are uploaded currently) as part of a project I did as part of a development of my style. I basically drew the same person, this wickedly totally awesomely wonderful guy named Graham, over and over again until people began to think I was obsessed with him by the numbers of pictures I had of him in my sketchbook. This one is in the bishounen manga style.

This is the second in the series. This is unfinished. It will be colored and messed with beyond all recognition. I like it so far, though. This is in that bare-bones anime style.

AH! Stop! Don't look! This is horrible! This was an experiment in white charcoal on black paper, the first time I tried drawing in negative, and it turned out horrible. The features got all out-of-proportion, so I nicknamed it the Picasso picture ^_^;;; I have to admit, though, the hair came out well.

This is a picture of two of my less-played characters. The first, Jocelyn, is pretty much a self-portrait, me being brutally honest ^_^;;; The second, Annick, is a fragile and beautiful Changeling, cursed by a bunch of different stuff. Blah...this was SO much nicer before I scanned it...

This is a fanart of the three main characters of a great dance game for Playstation 2 called Unison. If you're a girly type who likes video games, this game's for you! THe sketch is ugly and REALLY stylized...^_^;;;

This is one of my favorite characters, Elaine. Elaine is a vampire hunter who was bitten by a vampire. She went from being superviolent to being a pacifist who occasionally uses violence to stop violence (hypocritical I know) I tried to portray her as being very tall and very strong without losing that manga style femininity...Of course all of that got lost in the scan. The only real message these pictures can portray seems to be "Madmalkavian needs a new scanner".

Well, if there's anything to be said for Tooka, she's my most...erm...interesting character, and certainly the most contrary to my personality. She's a character in a Star Wars RPG. She's a...how can I say this nicely...Alien of the Evening, if you get my drift. She's actually made the equivalent of 9000 dollars in the course of 3 hours ^_^;;; She's quite good at what she does.
