| To quote Aaron from the meesage board: "Well, the Matrix movie ends with a rainbow...and bunnies...with pancakes on their heads so I really have no idea what's going on. I should be there tomorrow. And afterwards, I'd like some ribs." Yes, Matrix Revolutions did end in a rainbow. Rainblows represent many things. For christians rainbows are sing of God's covenant with man that he will not flood or destroy the world as he did in the Old Testament days. To the Irish, it's where those crafty leprechauns hide their gold (more proof of rampant Irish alcoholism). It is also a symbol of gay and lesbian pride. Since there was no sign of God or a pot of gold at the end of the movie, I am left with one conclusion: the Matrix Revolutions was gay. Not necessarily homosexual, but definitely queer or a little off. Things just got weird with this movie and there was absolutely no closure to the main struggle this film. That main struggle of course is the war between man and machine. Instead we are left with a little "Give peace a chance" ending. Of course in reality the machines should just learn to lie like humans do and go back and finish off the remainder of humanity. That's how I would've ended it. Oh well, I imagine this way the Wachowski brothers can bring this franchise back in five years or so. The film upset me. I made Kricket drive my car so I could pour back a giant margarita at dinner. Well, as for what's been going on lately...not much. I took Friday off because I'm sick of working at WEF and have decided it's time to move on. I hope within the next three months to have found a new job. Unfortunately if that means leaving D.C., so be it. I've always kept myself mobile and ready to go when needed. Friday I scoured the net looking around and made a few calls. Once I finished that up I headed to Alexandria to pick up some WWII flying goggles so I feel more comfortable playing Crimson Skies, then it was off to the Hoffman to watch that gay film with the rainbows. Afterwards we went to Chili's and had dinner as Aaron entertained the staff by humping the table and getting intimate with a bottle of beer. I'm not exaggerating. Saturday I kicked back, played Crimson Skies (with goggles) and did a whole lot of nothing. That night I braved the cold and stood out on my balcony for over an hour and watched the lunar eclipse. It was beautiful. It's these minor celestial events that make me realize how utterly insignificant my problems are. Things like this give me some persprctive. I've been in bad situations before. I will be in many more in the future. But I will keep going and push right through them. I still haven't decided what the purpose of my life is yet, but I feel like I'm getting closer. I imagine that it will involve the net, training, and the environment. It involves seeing a book I will write on a bookstore shelf someday. It also involves a good friend of mine and her music. Those are some of the things I want for my future. The rest is incidental. I am going to squeeze every last drop of fun and fulfillment out of my life that I can. Make the best choices you can and live with no regrets. That's my advice to everyone. Okay, I'm off the soapbox (for now). It's Monday and I'm back in my cell with the other loonies here in the WEF Asylum. But there is some good news. We have tomorrow off for Veteran's Day. I think tonight we will be doing things up right at my place with a little gaming and food. Hell, I might even cook for the bums (MIGHT). I know there will be some Crimson Skies along with some Naruto going down tonight. Feel free to bring your system of choice and some drinks to Da 'Bridge and we will go off till the wee hours of the morning. No regrets. Later. |
