| Hello and welcome to another exciting installment of "What the Hell Am I Doing?". Actually...nothing. Not a damn thing is going on. This weekend the only time I left my house was on Saturday to get some groceries. The only reason I even left to do that was that I was out of toilet paper. It's kind of funny but I think for most people in the lazy business, such as myself, I find that TP and underwear are the two great limiting factors on the potential for activity. If it wasn't for the fact I needed TP, I wouldn't have left to get groceries. If it wasn't for the need to wear clean underwear (more of a preference really), I would rarely do laundry. In order to help minimize those two activities...buy them in bulk. Hell it's not even 8:00 a.m. and I'm solving problems already. There was one significant event this weekend. Actually it was more of a revelation. Aaron and I came to the conclusion that Megas XLR is the single best show (including anime and other categories) that exists to date. This past Saturday, Bruce Campbell reprised his role as Magnanimous on the show and in this episode I felt like everything (including the kitchen sink) was thrown at me. I don't want to spoil it for anyone so just contact me and I'll let you borrow the tape of it. The reason this show hits so close to us is because I am now certain the creators of this show are in their late twenties/early thirties. First off, the show is about two average joes piloting a giant robot. Then there's the fact the joes are alot like myself and my own friends. We eat alot, play videogames and watch the same movies as these guys. Littered throughout each episode are hilarious pop culture. videogame, movie, and science fiction references...all of which I am familiar with. There's also hilarious spoofs on time-honored classics (Sailor Moon, G-Force, Godzilla, and more). It's just too much to take in sometimes. I truly love this show. The only other substantial event of last week was the conception and announcement of....... The Halo 2-day Marathon! This little event will transpire on November 9 & 10. It will start not long after we pick up our copies of Halo 2 at 12 a.m. November 9. Aaron and Kricket will be haeding to my house after they check out the game using some superior graphics technology. Then we will assemble at my place to get it rolling. If you wish to attend you should bring an Xbox, copy of Halo 2, TV or video monitor to use, $20-25 cash for food, sleeping gear if you want to sleep, and anything special you want to bring. I'll be providing a fair amount of beverages and some snacks. Contact me at the e-mail address on my homepage with "Halo 2-day" in the subject line for more details. Prepare yourselves!!! |
