Well, it's certainly not a happy Columbus Day.  For one, I'm working.  And second, Christopher Reeve, aka Superman, died yesterday at the age of 52 from heat failure loosely brought about by his paralysis.  It would have been nice to see him do a cameo in the possibly upcoming new Superman movie, but it's probably for the best.

As for this past weekend, it was relatively uneventful.  Friday I went out with my friends from my old Oklahoma City job, Dawn and Gina.  Dawn's got a nice little crib in downtown DC.  She's also got a nice little BMW X3 which I got to drive...it was nice.  Anyway we went to Dupont Circle and had some dinner then went to Cafe Citron where we had a few drinks and enjoyed the music.  It was nice, but kind of strange seeing us all three of us back together in a different place.  I guess one of these weekends I need to take her to Super H Mart and get her set with the grocery situation.

Saturday I played alot of Shadow Hearts: Covenant, slept, then eventually had a visit from Aaron and Kricket.  That night was definitely one of the strangest for me in awhile.  I learned a little too much about Aaron's bathroom habits.  I won't freak you out with the details, but if you must know, go surf my message board.  Then Kricket came in and earned a new knickname...the
Black Ostrich.  How did he earn this?  Because he attempted to jump over my coffee table to get to the couch.  Even though the table is only 1.5 feet high, he still failed to get over it completely and wound up putting a footprint on it where he had to catch himself.  Otherwise he would've crashed face first into my couch.  So like the Ostrich, he's a big, goofy bird that can't fly.  Look for the first issue of the Black Ostrich comic book to be hitting newstands near you soon.

Sunday was the usual: laundry, dishes, and groceries.  Followed up by more Shadow Hearts and a pleasant nap.  As for this week, not much going on.  I need a new cable modem and get my Xbox Live setup working again.  As for the weekend?  Who knows.  It kind of depends on how I go about receiving my first paycheck.  Cross your fingers.
