| 'Sup beotches? Just a quick update to let everyone know I'm alive...barely. This week we have to do a visual inventory of all the chemicals in our labs. Over 2000 different types are floating around in various nooks and crannies and like Pokemon, I've gotta catch 'em all. Rubidium Chloride, I CHOOSE YOU! So yesterday I arrived at work at 7:00 and got home around 8:00...p.m. Today will be quite similar. There's another reason I'm doing this craziness besides love of my work. The reason is so I can ditch work early on Friday and go campin'. What originally started out as a small cozy trip consisting of me, Ryan, Shao, and Erka has escalated to a full-on group gathering. We have Elise (and Kona), Sung, and a friend of Ryan's joining us for this adventure. However for the future I will probably go sneaking off on my own and limit the number of group gatherings. Of course, from time to time I'll probably drag Erka along as bait for bears and/or zombies. I also want at some point to get Kricket and Ace to go with me ala Star Trek V. But no canoeing down any rivers...I saw Deliverance. I know what happens to the fat, white guy. You see a few weeks ago I came to realize I was stuck in a rut. It wasn't a bad rut mind you, but a rut nonetheless. My weekends consisted basically of three things. Playing games, watching movies, and eating out. There's nothing really wrong with that, but recently with all the commuting time I have (@ 3 hours/day) I got to thinking I need something more. In particular, something that involved getting away from as many people as possible. Hence the camping. So I stopped buying games and started renting, cashed in my swear jar (I still owe it some payments) and bought some camping gear. Now I have about everything I need and am ready to start doing this. This will be the first time I've gone caming in about 6 years. I know all the basics so I don't forsee any problems. This weekend should be a fun trip. Also this week I am officially a full-time employee of the Umbrella Corporation. To celebrate, all my friends will get a complimentary tin of tasty white mints to enjoy for themselves or to share with others. Hehehehe. On the gaming note, I'm still playing Burnout 3 way too much. I imagine I'll break that cycle when Shadow Hearts: Covenant comes in, but it will be a struggle to let go of the magic that is crashing cars for fun and profit. That's all the exciting news for this week. I'll check in again after the Camping Extravaganza! |
