Sorry to take so long in getting back.  I feel like one post a week is enough these days since my week mostly consists of sleep, work, eat, play Disgaea, repeat.   Which was the case for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of last week.  Then came Isabel.

Well, I and all my friends officially survived Tropical Storm Isabel.  She rolled through Thursday night in our area after she devastated the VA and NC coasts.  The federal government as well as mine and many other ofiices were closed Thursday and Friday.  Thursday we got hit and Friday we began to recover.  I spent the morning on Thursday prepping my 1st ever "Hurricane BBQ".  It consisted of BBQ chicken, baked beans, green beans, and some veggies (gotta fight off scurvy).  I told Aaron about this on AIM and he was not amused since he only had Ramen and Tuna to survive on.  Basically Aaron ,Ryan, and I chatted all day on AIM as we sat around waiting for the worst.  Well for me the "worst" was when my power got knocked out at 11:30 that Thursday night.  Fortunately I had my stash of chicken, plenty of filtered water, and a fully-charged GBA with Final Fantasy Tactics Advance to see me through.  Of course I was still pissed off about it because although my apartment complex was down, all the businesses and homes less than a 1/4 mile up the road were all fine.  And because of the hurricane I imagined that our place would be low-priority and we might not see help for 2-3 days.  But "the man" actually came through and I was running again by 8:30 Friday night.  Sweet nourishing voltage, don't ever leave me.  Also I heard alot of Old Town Alexandria was flooded and banged up.  I'm still crossing my fingers that WEF (my office) got jacked up.  I'll call and find out what's up today.

Despite what mother nature threw at us Aaron, Kricket, and I rallied on Saturday and watched Underworld.  I really enjoyed it even though the vampire/werewolf combo was a little strange.  I'm officially in love with Kate Beckinsale now.  To me she's a hotter version of Trinity.  Excuse me while I drool.  After the movie we ATTEMPTED to eat out in Woodbridge.  Our first stop was Hooters, but it's 7:30 on a Sat.  Figure the odds on getting in.  Aaron and Kricket did survey the inside a little and Aaron officially deemed it vist-worthy.  The women there are top-notch.  I highly recommend a Wednesday or Thursday trip to avoid the Weekend/Monday crowds.  We then tried Don Pablo's but that also looked a wee bit crowded.  In the end we wound up at my place with Domino's.  Stevie came by for a bit and watched as we played Disgaea.  Then Kricket stopped by with his Family Guy DVDs and we atched a few episodes, but I couldn't really watch them because I had already seen them last week.  You see with me, I'm one of those people who absorb what I see if it holds my interest.  Once done I'm ready to move on.  There are only a few exceptions which can be found in my DVD collection.  Speaking of which. I fully intend to expand my collection only AFTER I obtain my own DVD burner (Christamas perhaps?).   I do not want to buy a movie ever again unless it is something that grabs me completely.  The only DVDs I will likely be purchasing in the future are: Matrix Reloaded (for collecting purposes only), Pirates of the Caribbean, Bad Boys 2, and Freddy vs. Jason.  Anything else...I don't care about it, period.

Well today, I plan to start writing the first chapter in my Steel Battalion story.  The basic gist of it is us against the Jaralaccs mercenary group.  For those that don't know, I'm using your real names and most of your personality traits as I have seen them.  I can promise no one will be shown in a negative way.  Here's the breakdown of our group:

1st Special Panzer Troop, 32nd Special Panzer Battalion PRAFC

1st Platoon:
1st. Lt. Steve "Grizzly"
WO4 Ryan "Short-Fuse"
WO3 Erka "Atilla"

2nd Platoon:
2nd Lt. Aaron "ROK"
WO5 "Kricket"
WO2 Rick "Snowman"

3rd Platoon:
2nd Lt. Elise - "Dark Horse"
WO3 Stevie "The Cheat"
WO1 David "Ahoy"

4th Platoon (There are no VTs in this one. It's a fire support/C&C group)
WO5 Sung "Lo-Tech"
Sung is our tech man
WO = Warrant Officer

I plan to work on this chapter all week and have it up by this weekend.  This chapter will not contain any combat in VTs.  It will be an intorductory chapter where readers will meet us for the first time.  For those that are curious here's a quick look at what most of us will be doing in the chapter (no spoilers):
Ryan and David - driving...something (hehehe)
Elise - flying a helicopter
Aaron and Kricket - in a bar (hehehe)
Erka - camping and hunting
Sung - tinkering with something cool
Stevie - target practice
Rick - working on a model
Me - work stuff

Well that's all for now,  I'll be posting up again this next weekend.  Later.
