| Well last week was pretty tiring and I imagine this week will be just as stressful. After a couple of nights in jail my dad got out on bond and was ordered by the court not to talk to or go anywhere near my mother until after his trial date, which is this Wednesday. If he viloated that order it's an automatic year in jail. I think he's looking at a year if the judge decides to go that way. However most of family thinks it will just be counseling, which is what I'm hoping for as well. After he got out he had a brief run in with my mom as they both scrambled to secure their savings accounts from one another. Then he checked in to a local motel. Well, there are only two of those in my hometown. My sisters both went to visit him and help him out if he needed anything. My mom later asked me to call him. I didn't think that was such a hot idea at the time and I was right. My dad and I got into it about 2.5 minutes into the call and he handed the phone off to my sister and left the room. I later found out that earlier that day my sisters had talked to him and told him that it was us (my sisters and I) that had police take him in. My dad's first response? "Well, I can see that coming from Steven." You can see that my dad and I haven't always gotten along and out of all my family, I have probably been the least sympathetic to him in terms of his problems. A few years ago, when my dad went on a pill bender and wrecked his truck, I got about a mile away from the county courthouse with the firm intention of having my dad committed to a 72-hour rehab program. My mom stopped me. With my dad, I've been as tough on him as he was on me in hopes that he would snap out of the state he's been in for so long. But despite our difficulties, I called him again on saturday and things went alot better. I told him that no matter what happens, I will be behind both him and mom. Eventually we both kind of broke down and had to stop talking, but it was still a good talk regardless. I just hope and pray that this experience changes both my parent's lives for the better. Even if they separate for good. As for me, last week was all about work and my folks. Friday, we went and saw S.W.A.T. (pronounced like flat). I screwed up early on when I let some stupid old bag take Kricket's seat cause we thought he was going to be a no-show (the previews were rolling). When he did show a couple of minutes later, there was no way she would move. Stupid old bitch. I also gave Kricket the finger for some weird reason and earned my Darkside points for the week. I think it was because I didn't want to have to argue with the old bag and was mad at Kricket for being late. So later my conscience kicked in and I went to sit with Kricket. Overall, the movie was pretty bland. I think they took too much time with setting things up and not enough time focusing on the whole $100 million escape stuff. It could've been alot better. At Applebee's later at our usual table, Aaron was just Aaron. That's really the only way to describe it. Saturday we had an old school (Ryan-style) S&A. Aaron, Sung, and I went to Safeway and grabbed some brats and such, then headed back to my place to eat. Kricket arrived later, as uaual, just as the food was being finished. We then watched Evolution...hehehe theater in the round. Cuckaw Cuckaw. I then popped in Silent Hill 3 (rented) and played a little of it to let everyone see it. Right as I stopped playing the storm hit and there was all this lightning and thunder...pretty cool stuff. After that it was Halo, where I kept coming in second...damnit! Even at my game of rocket Oddball. As wrapped up, I gave Aaron Silent Hill 3 and Splashdown-Rides Gone Wild for the old burn treatment. Sunday I slept like the dead most of the day. I did manage to run some errands and get to Subway to pick up the games to return to Blockbuster. While I was there I watched as Erka and his cousin we're converting cardboard mailing tubes into mortars using firecrackers as the charge. Needless to say, Subway was not fresh, but smelled like gunpowder. That's just too much free time. Erka will be going to PA today to buy more firepower. Scary. That's pretty much it. I'll check back in after Wednesday. Also as the front page illustrates, it's all about Freddy vs. Jason this weekend. Later. |
