FREEDOM!!!
Sorry I've been away so long, kids.  But let's face it.  When you're "betwwen jobs", lazy, and a game addict, it's hard to make yourself do anything remotely constructive.  I feel it's an accomplishment that I'm able to bathe myself and cook a meal everyday.  For those of you outside the loop, I resigned from my job at WEF as of April 30.  For the past two weeks I've been living the unemployed life and I've been living it well.

Don't get me wrong.  I'm not a total bum.  I've had two job interviews since I've been out.  One of those was with the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) here in our beloved nation's capital.  Everyday I spend at least an hour towards finding new work.  Right now I'm concentrating my search in this area (DC), Dallas, and Seattle/Tacoma.  If anyone knows of any interesting jobs in those areas, let me know.  Anything related to the environment with an emphasis on water treatment is preferred.  E-mail me at the address on my front page.  Thank you for your consideration hahahaha.

As to what I've been up to in the meantime since I've been out can be summed up in one simple word...NOTHING!  When not searching for a job, scratching, and foraging for food, I play games, go to movies, watch TV, and...more scratching.  Allow me to recap the movies and games I've immersed myself in the past two weeks and offer my opinions on them for those of you that are interested.

MOVIES

Man on Fire - Denzel loses his job as a bodyguard and the little girl he was hired to protect and s#!t goes crazy!  This was a very good movie and Denzel showed action heroes for the future how to get a job done.  C4 enema anyone?

Van Helsing - Hugh Jackman's stock dropped a few points in this one.  He can still kick ass, but he didn't get one decent line in the whole movie.  It was basically director Stephen Sommers throwing everything (including the kitchen sink) at us...except characters and a story we could give a damn about.  Rent this and save a few bucks.

Troy - Plenty of action for the fellas and plenty of shots of a near-naked Brad Pitt for the ladies.  Not the best movie, but very well done and worth a watch.  Blood spray was...inspiring.

GAMES

Onimusha 3 - Samanouske's back along with our favorite cleaner, Jean Reno.  Decent game with a good story and the time switching is ok.  I just hate  Capcom for all the idiotic puzzles they litter their games with.  It's one thing to have to find a key you need or a part to car or something helpful.  But sliding squares and putting the stupid jewel in a statue or walking across a puzzle trap floor is just too much.  You can probably rent this and be all good.

La Pucelle Tactics - The predecessor of one of my favorite games: Disgaea.  Nippon Ichi offers us the same cute but deep Strategy RPG formula.  It has its problems and isn't quite as exciting as Disgaea, but with over 120 hours of gameplay and plenty of story it's still worthy of a place in anyone's collection.  Buy it.

Rallisport Challenge 2
- I'm a little biased on this one so don't pay too much attention to me.  This is my favorite racing series...period.  Improvements they made over the original are better crash modeling, damage can actually affect performance, crossover racing, and huge graphical upgrade.  It can be played on Live, but in all honesty, rallying is not a sport that is meant to be played like that.  Crossover, Ice, and Rallycrosses are ok for it, but Rallying is about you and your car versus the stage and the clock.  They sould offer a list of the best times for certain stages or ghost downloads.  Overall, this game is worthy of all the praise it's received.

Custom Robo - After spending over a day with it I can say it's on its way to trade-in status.  It's a decent idea, but poorly executed.  Feels more like Pokemon, than battling robots.  The story mode is basically silly and I just can't care anymore.  Worth a rent for a weekend, but that's about it.

Games I'll be playing in the near future: Samurai Warriors and Front Mission 4.

Speaking of games, E3 wrapped up last week and I would have to say the hardware stole the show for me.  The Sony PSP and Nintendo DS caused my mouth to drool and my wallet to scream in terror.  As for games, it was basically the games of last E3 that took the limelight: Halo 2, MGS 3, and Half Life 2.  The one new introduction of note: A New Zelda game...sweet.  Just go to ign.com or gamespot.com to get all the news fit to print.

Now if everyone will excuse me, I've got some unemployed stuff to do...freedom!!!
