As the caption implied on my front page, it's Music Thursday!!!  Actually I'm doing this because Ryan wants some new tunes to listen to at work since he can't use peer to peer or any file sharing software at work.  Sucks for him.  I can only put a couple of songs up at one time since I have zippy space on here.  Also in the near future I might be doing some cleanup on here to make some room for a temporary gallery section.  One more thing regarding the site.  Would someone be willing to write a review of X-Men 2?  Just 2 or 3 paragraphs would be good.  And if anyone wants to talk about upcomig summer movies, feel free to write something up and send it to me.

Anyway, there's nothing new to report.  Last night I worked out on my balcony and watched the storms.  I will probably be doing about the same tonight too.  I need to go get the Sugar Busters cookbook today too.

Well here's the music.  First we have something for Ryan, POD's
Boom.  Next we have a song from the Matrix Reloaded soundtrack.  It's a song about me by Prodigy called One Man Army.  The link above those two is for my girl Naho's website.  For those of you who haven't heard her music or heard me talk about it already, you should definitely go and check it out.  She has an amazing voice and is really dedicated to her music.  She and her band N-POINTS are working on their first CD, which should be on sale sometime in early August.  So enjoy music Thursday.  Tomorrow is T.G.I.F.!!!!

Well, I made it through my physical.  I'm as healthy as a guy my size can be right now.  But the bottom line my doctor and I discussed is if I don't make a significant change in my life now, I will develop Type 2 diabetes and possibly hypertension over the next several years.  My dad developed diabetes in his 40's and let's face it, I'm not that far away from there.  So basically the doctor outlined a pretty fool-proof and simple diet plan for me to follow that should not only bring my weight down, but help me avoid diabetes in the future.  If I can stick to this diet as well as do regular exercise, the doc said I could be down to a little over 200 by the end of the year (starting from now).  He said I have a big frame and would always be a big guy so 200 or so is about ideal for me.  Basically the diet involves counting calories and common sense.  Doc said that because I do have a decent amount of muscle mass (hiding somewhere I think) I should be taking in no more than 1500-1800 calories a day.  The common sense comes in as far as what I eat.  Of course junk food is out as well as most of the starches and complex carbs like rice and potatoes.  Sugar?  Only what I would normally find in a normal, healthy meal.  Also I will be eating 5 small meals/snacks a day as opposed to 3 square.  This will keep my metabolism going all day and help me burn more.  As bad as this sounds I am allowed to "cheat" occasionally, like once a week.  As long as I balance out my calorie intake for that day to adjust for whatever it is we do (S&A or movie night), then it's ok.  It's going to be rough starting out, but I'm sure I can handle it and I look forward to getting back down to fighting weight again.  It's a sad day but for now at least I must bid frewell to my friends at Krispy Kreme, Papa John's, Taco Bell, Quizno's, Five Guys, Billy Dee and Colt 45.  Now I have to say hello to my new friends like Yoplait, PowerBar, Trader Joe's, Diet Coke w/ Lemon (I like that stuff believe it or not), hell...diet anything I guess.  This does NOT mean S&A is finished.  It just means I only get one brat instead of 2 or 3 and I have to eat it on a whole wheat pita instead of normal flat bread.

As far as exercise goes, I've been doing it off and on for the past few weeks, but without the diet I've only been keeping my weight where it is and not losing.  I know Kricket wants to play some hoops this summer and I definitely think it's a great idea so "I'm dowwwn".  It's been like 10 years since I've played but who cares.  I definitely plan to get out more this summer and do some activities that will help me lose a few.  So if any of you bums feel like hitting the great outdoors this summer, just let me know.

Ok enough of all this silly diet talk.  Let's talk movies.  Matrix Reloaded is coming out next week.  I think all of us need to hit that as a group.  I am definitely looking forward to it in a crazy way.  In fact to make sure the movie is fresh for me, I change the channel everytime a preview or commercial comes on for it now.  As soon as the AMC website posts the corrcet info for the showtimes (for Fri. May 16 btw) we can all preorder our tix.  Just post up on the board if you want to roll with us.  Right now I know it will be me, Aaron, Kricket (and Asia?), and Erka.  I think Ryan and Shao might be joining us.  So as for the rest of you...get with the program.  We will probably be going to a late 4 or early 5 o'clock show and head out to eat after it's over.

Even though it's only Wednesday I have a good idea of what I plan to do this weekend.  I think I will be breaking out the folding table and hooking up...Steel Battalion.  I'm chomping at the bit waitng for Capcom to finish Steel Battalion Online.  Hopefully it will include network support.  Excuse me while I drool.....
