| Hello all. I'm back from what has been a truly crazy week. There's been alot of good and bad stuff that has happened over the past several days so let's start the recap with last Friday. Friday - 4/16 Everything went pretty well. We (Aaron, Erka, Stevie, Kricket, and me) saw Kill Bill Vol. 2. That movie was great. Gordon Liu was awesome and hilarious at the same time. There was some great action as well as Tarintino's flair for crazy dialogue (The Superman speech). After the film we headed to Malibu Grill where Kricket and I destroyed enough grilled meat to feed a third of the Chinese Army. Aaron got to enjoy his meal on one of the Grill's own sword-like kabobs. Fun stuff to watch. After the meal wasn't necessarily good times for me. Later that night my stomach started to roll and I felt queasy. I thought it was the meat, but it was actually a sign of something worse to come. Saturday - 4/17 The day started as it normally does. I watched cartoons, did some household stuff. Then I logged in and started playing Line of Contact. My stomach had stopped rolling but just to be safe I didn't eat and simply drank alot of water. Instead of being queasy I felt a twinge of pressure in my lower left back. Then around 2:00 p.m. that twinge became an excruciating stab of pain. I logged off LoC and called my sister (an RN) to get some advice. When I told her where I hurt she thought about it for a second then asked me, "Have you peed today?" Despite all the water I had drank, strangely, I hadn't. She told me to try and let her know if there was anything different. I managed to make myself go and sure enough there was a problem...blood. When I told her what happened, she said, "Welcome to the club, bro. I've had this before. You've got a kidney stone. Get your ass to a hospital." So after hanging up with her, I called Kricket to ask where the closest hospital was. I was in a good deal of pain and not thinking clearly. Luckily Kricket could tell I wasn't all there so he said he would come get me and take me. It was good news. After hanging up I got dressed and ready to go. A few minutes later I had to go to the bathroom again. However when I went this time there was something even more odd. I won't gross you out with the details but let's just call me Stonebreaker and that my troubles "passed away". By the time Kricket got there I was feeling alot better. But to be safe we headed over to Potomac Hospital and I hit the ER. Get me a fifth of whiskey and two hot nurses STAT!. Anyhoo after a wait I got in and got checked out by a nurse and was asked to supply a sample. Then a few minutes later I talked to one of the ER physicians and they felt that all the water I had been drinking that day helped contribute to the stone passing as easily as it did. Plus she guessed it wasn't a big one. So she set me up with a urologist and sent me on my way. In the meantime Kricket and Asia had gone and got my car for me and set me up to go home since I felt fine. Thanks, Darkness. You know what's most messed up about that day? I had just passed a kidney stone and been through terrible pain, but by 8 that night I was playing LoC with Kricket and my friends again. I am a machine, bitches. King Kong ain't got s#!@ on me! Sunday - 4/18 Felt fine. Just sore from being sick and in pain. All I did was play LoC and drink water. And one other thing. I called a friend of mine in OKC about a little extra birthday cheer. Also Intial D Fourth Stage was released in RAW (unsubbed) format. Monday - 4/19 Took off from work to see the urologist and got some X-rays. I have to follow up with him next Tuesday. I finished reading Talon of the Silver Hawk by Ramond E. Feist. It was a pretty good read. Tuesday - 4/20 The first round of LoC ended with the PRF winning (bitches), but on the plus side I received a bonus of 185,000 Supply Points for my contribution to the HSD cause. I plan to continue playing LoC, but just not as much now. The economy of that game is ruined. Despite the end of LoC for awhile there was a suprise at my door as my extra birthday cheer arrived from OKC via UPS. My man, Todd, hooked me a Dell Axim X3 300 Mhz Pocket PC dirt cheap. I plan to use this for keeping track of my former contacts through WEF as well as use it for whatever job is next. I love this thing. I spent the rest of the night playing with it. Wednesday - 4/21 Uneventful. Just played with my X3. Xbox Live was down for updating so no LoC. Kricket stopped by that night and saw the goods and we watched Dave Chappelle's greatest hits show (except for Rick James). The Wayne Brady skit of course made the cut. Awesome. Even more awsome? The first episode of Initial D Fourth Stage was subbed. wOOt! Go Bittorrent! Thursday - 4/22 I actually worked Thursday and finished the last set of questions I plan on writing for WEF. Then ofcourse the rest of the day I played with my X3 and configured it to play anime I download. Now I can watch vid files on the go without the need for a cumbersome laptop. Granted, it's on a small screen and the res isn't as high as a laptop, but I enjoy the convenience more than quality when I'm not at home. I also had to buy a 256 MB SD memory card. Damn, those things cost almost as much as half of what I paid for the X3. Good thing Todd hooks me with such a big discount for my hardware. I still decided to convert my vid files to wmv (from avi) format in order to save space. Now I can carry up to 5 episodes of anime to watch and still have room for docs and other work-related stuff. Technology rules! Today Today I plan on doing a little work and formatting some anime for being on the go. I also want to find and download music from the Fourth Stage. Tonight we'll be seeing The Punisher followed by a trip to the Bee's. Now I used to read the Punisher back in the day. I'm crossing my fingers in hope that Thomas Jane and John Travolta can pull this off. We shall see. |
