| tae block it some'ow knowin I would try tae leave tae join 'm in battle...I sat there 'elpless as I 'eard the screams o'my people bein butchered...a sound tha' will stay wi' me forever...after wha' seemed like days I 'eard the door slowly start tae open...I stood there wi' m'sword drawn...nae sure o'who it might be...then I 'eard a voice tha' seemed familiar bu' was so weak I could nae tell for sure who it was...when the door finally opened I could see m'usband standin there...bloodied an' gaspin for breath...I 'ad barely 'ad time tae ge'tae 'im before 'e fell intae m' arms...I managed tae get 'im over tae the bed an' tried tae tend tae 'is wounds bu' I knew even the gods could'na save 'im now...As 'e lay there dyin 'e 'ad told me tha' m'father an' most o'my people 'ad been killed...those that 'ad survived 'ad managed tae flee intae the surroundin 'ills...as I kissed 'im goodby for the las' time I swore vengence on the people who 'ad done this an' tae someday return this kingdom tae wha' it 'ad once been...with those I loved gone and m'kingdom all bu' destroyed I 'ad nae any recourse bu' tae try an' find those who 'ad fled an' begin tae rebuild all tha'ad been lost...an' so began m'quest...along wi' NyteWing...aye, even 'e lives on...I traveled far an' wide through the surroundin lands wi'out success...I never stayed in one place long enough tae make friends for fear o'losin them as I 'ad m'family...The days turned intae months, the months intae years...an' the many years o'bein alone 'ad taken it's toll on me as well...I longed for the companionship o'others despite the pain o'what losin those I cared for might bring...tired and alone...I made m'way intae the land known as Rhydin...a land as diverse as any I 'ad ever come across before...filled wi' people an' beings o'many races an' backgrounds...I became attracted tae this region an' decided tha' this is where I would make m'ome...I soon joined m'first guild where I 'ad found the companionship I 'ad been lackin throughout m'many years o'travel...when the time came tae lead one o'my first guilds I was rather 'esitant...knowin 'ow I 'ad le' m'people down once before I was unsure whether I wanted tae take tha' chance o'leadin m'new-found family possibly tae their downfall as well...I thought long an 'ard an' decided I could nae longer live in the past...I 'ad grown much stronger since m'journey 'ad begun so long ago an' decided tha' this was somethin I felt I 'ad tae do...an' as m'father before me 'ad done...well tha' was many years ago an' despite all tha'as 'appened...I feel I made the right decision...I 'ave met many friends along the way...an' sadly I 'ave lost a few as well...bu' I remain firm in m'belief tha' the good 'as far outweighed the bad...I now reside on the outskirts o'Rhydin in a castle I named Alzamoore...so named after m'beloved 'omeland an' the people tha' are nae more...an' so 'ere ends m'story...as always...may the gods go wit ye. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
