| AtADtD is gone. Some of you may actually care about this move, but I suggest you get over it. There's a lot of better fanfiction out there, and a lot of much better original fiction out there; if you miss AtADtD, you're missing out on a whole lot more than just my early teen amusements. Hollow Victory, which I consider a more mature work about a more mature series, will remain, as will MI, which I simply love too dearly to ever get rid of. My explanations: real life and original series are taking up too much time, and I want to invest any writing I do into the Muldrockal Sequence or other stuff that could conceivably get published. Digimon: Destiny: I don't think I ever actually had a certain title; all I wrote was the prologue and a little smidge of part 1 that was never to be. It was a post-apocalyptic future fic with a Dark Digidestined in control and several characters getting together; perhaps the fact that all of this has been done twelve times to tuesday in the Digimon fandom contributed to my never writing it. All the villains I planned for this fic are currently used in Crossover DX(also written by Alex Warlorn, Broken Tusk, and Charles RB), and have subequently been renamed and revamped for use in my original series, Fantasy Extreme. Thus, not a total loss. Classic unwritten moment: Years after Matt supposedly died, the Destined are fighting Kale's (the Dark Digidestined) general, Dreadmon. Dreadmon's masked helmet is blown off, and he is revealed to be Matt, corrupted and empowered. This was supposed to be even more suprising to the DX writers, who have known Dreadmon and Matt to be totally seperate entities. Megaman: A Digital Soul: Long story short: Wiley makes a female robot, Clef, designed like Bass only better, her and Megaman fall in love but have to fight each other, et cetera, et cetera, yawn. I think a few sentences of the prologue was all that ever came out; on the whole, feel lucky you never heard of it. Classic unwritten moment: the Ballroom scene, where Clef and Rock, attending a robotics expo disguised as ordinary people, are dancing with each other without knowing that one is there to watch out for the other. Sonic the Hedghehog: Demon in the Emeralds: Since the plot of this was a major part of Odyssey for a long time, it's actually become complicated. Summary: Really 8 Chaos Emeralds, not 7; everyone made to believe that only 7 because really bad thing happens when all 8 come together, though no one knows what that is. Sonic (I think he originally had a son, Turbo, in the planned fic, but Odyssey became the cannon, and there was no such son) has to use all 8 to stop Neo-Robotnik (cybernetically enhanced, of course), and that bad thing is revealed: when all 8 come together, the hedgehog sorcerer Azrobas, who made the emeralds and whose soul is linked to them, comes back to life. He possesses Sonic, and, well, I never really planned much beyond that. Consult Alex Warlorn's Odyssey summary or the Sonic Foundation's Odyssey Archives for what happens after. Classic unwritten moment: I don't even remember. Oh yeah, I think when Tails is revealed to be the guardian of the Fire Emerald (one of the four Master Emeralds; the one on Angel Island is the Wind Emerald) and is evil. Where'd I ever pull that one from? Diablo II: The Gathering: A novelization of Diablo II. Not much to say; I think I was discouraged by the fact that, even though D2 is a small fandom, there are a bunch of novelizations. Diablo: Horadrim: Now I'll stop and reminisce a bit.The first three were really old ideas, back when I was a new writer and eager to cover the Internet with my writing like a territorial dog yearns to cover the world in his piss. I don't really miss the first three, they weren't very mature ideas. My more recent ideas, like Horadrim, I do kinda regret. Horadrim was the story of the Horadrim (an ancient group of magi who, though referred to often in the games, fell apart long before the games take place), a kind of prequel to the Diablo series; it followed Jonas Cain, Deckard's grandfather, as he crusades across the land, meets other magi, and ultimately becomes one of the first Horadrim under the assignment of Tyrael. It would have been good, I think. Classic unwritten moment: Dinner with Horazon; Jonas and company stumble into the Arcane Sanctuary during the Summoner's heyday, and are invited to dinner, where the eccentric Horazon gives kinda creepy conversation. Oh, how I liked that idea, heehee. I might make a Warcraft III campaign based on this story. Diablo: Great Conflict: The story of the Great Conflict, the war between Heaven and Hell referred to in the Diablo series. It would have been just one big creative license. Not the best of ideas. Classic unwritten moment: the very end, where only one demon and one angel are left atop the smoldering piles of corpses left over from the armageddon-style fight that just took place. "And then, only then, when all else was consumed was the great fire of hate finally sated. At last, in the two remaining hearts, hatred finally burned down and was gone." Aw, how cute. Diablo III: Immortal Darkness: Yeah, I went through a Diablo phase. This one I really wish I had written, because I liked the idea. It follows the premise behind Hollow Victory (it's an alternate version of it), that no one can fight evil and win total victory. The paladin's zeal becomes lunacy, the barbarian's muscles go to his head, the amazon lives only for the perfection of her skills, and the sorceress and necromancer figure that if they could take down the Prime Evils, they could take down anything. So, the Three are replaced by the Five, as the Diablo II heroes follow the Diablo I heroes' trend and become the villains. At the same time, Belial and Azmodan, the two remaining Lords of Hell, decide to work together and take what is rightfully theirs. A group of heroes including a thief, a priestess, a mageknight, and an undead warlock have to stop all of these as they rampage across Sanctuary. Again, planning to make a Warcraft III campaign based on it. Classic unwritten moment: I don't think there was one. Maybe that's a good thing. Sigh. Memories. I was thinking of putting my Jet Grind Radio fic up there, but I like to think there's still hope for it. |
