Hi my name is R.Chin from Brooklyn, New York. On September 11,2001 at around 9:00 A.M. I was attending psychology class at John Adams High School in Ozone Park, Queens. Before the class began it's session for the day, my teacher told the class that "2 jets purposely crashed into the Twin Towers". The entire class and I thought he was joking but later I found out it was not a joke anymore. A few of the students including I myself looked out the window towards Rockaway Blvd. and saw noticed that the Twin Towers were on fire. We couldn't believe it. Everyone were shocked. The entire school were in shock as soon as we found out what really happened. John Adams High School faculty and students were suffering the emotions of grief and sadness since many of the family members either worked near or at the World Trade Center. We were not in panic though. We were all calm. About most of John Adams High School students and staff had lost family and friends in the attack. We were all supporting each other during this difficult time. I was affected very much as everyone else were because I use to go to the Twin towers for my class trips. I use to always see the Twin Towers as soon as I got off of the train at Canal Street on the A train in Manhattan. Now that I don't see them anymore I am angered and saddened at the same time. Everytime I looked at the Manhattan skyline it isn't the same anymore and I am always asking myself, " Is this a nightmare? If so why can't I wake up from this." Till this day I am still in disbelief that the Towers isn't there anymore. It was almost like I lost 2 family members on September 11,2001. |
