Ok, while this may not have been the intent of the director, I always thought this to be interesting. Jim Cunningham is this clean cut guy goin around preaching love and people love him. I thought it kind of odd that his initials are JC... same as Jesus Christ who also preached love and everybody loved him. I always thought that in a way, this was trying to show that Donnie was the true messiah of the people. He saved the universe from collapsing, and in that gave people a look at who they really are. It showed Jim Cunningham what the consequences of his porn dungeon would be. It showed Ms. Farmer what a horrible person he was, and what a horrible person she was to other people. He sacrificed himself for mankind. Just like Jesus did. Maybe i'm going a little too far, but i thought it was more than a coincidence. --weenal
I was wondering if you thought the numbers on Donnie's arm represented anything other then when the world was coming to the end. Here are my thoughts: 28 . 06 . 42 . 12 If you look at each of the first three numbers, and subtract the last from the first. 1.) 8-2=6 2.) 6-0=6 3.) add 4+2=6 4.) now 12-6 666 ???? yes a big stretch. i'll keep playing with the numbers, I know they're not just some digits with no significance. --Paul
In one scene the words cro-evolut appear on the chalkboard. Do you have any idea of the meaning. I am guessing that the word is french but I can't find a definition anywhere. The english version of evolute is a mathmatical term that appears to be able to be applied to the bending of time but the prefix cro is a mystery. --Kevin |
