| The Hunyak is a woman from Hungary who was accused of murdering her husband but she really didn't do it. She goes to jail at the Cook County Jail in murder's row with a bunch of other women who really did murder their husbands and boyfriends. The Hunyak has a very ironic and a very meaningful role in this film, she is the only one at Cook County Jail who didn't kill somebody and they all get off, scott free. The Hunyak can't speak any English except for the words, "Not Guilty." The jury at all of her trials judges her too much and decides she is guilty every single time, and a week after she looses her last appeal, she becomes the first woman in the state of Illinois to be executed. During the musical number, Razzle Dazzle, the Hunyak appears as the blind justice in the courtroom. This is because the judge is supposed to be blind to everything besides the facts. The judge and jury at all of the Hunyak's trials are not blind, they just judge that because she's from a foreign country, she must have done it. "Uh, uh . . . not guilty!" |
