Never Underestimate The Enemy!
By Remwar
"Is he really gonna waste a platoon of very highly trained demons on us? Or does he think we'll loose?" Tetsuo asked his partner, drawing the guns he had borrowed from him. "He's testing our skills, sending in some heavy artillery to see how we handle a real situation." "He'll no doubt watch our every move." Jag added. "Don't hold back, guys. No f*ck ups on this one. I hate to say it but we have no choice but to pull out all of the stops." Remwar said, taking off his jacket and drawing his sword. "Tet, I'm pulling my trump card." he yelled after stripping himself of all weapons and equipment leaving only his sword and outfit. "No! They'll wait for it and then strike. That demon guy is gonna get you as soon as your exhausted." Tetsuo pleaded. "That's why I have you and Jag. Get my back. 15 seconds is all I need." Rem backed up to the farthest point of the rooftop and sat down cross-legged. With the Demon Slayer long sword across his lap he closed his eyes and began to breathe deeply. "What the h*ll is he doing?" Jag asked, backing up as the crescent of demons edged ever closer. "Youre on point. Keep 'em busy for just a moment." With that Tetsuo brought his arms in tight and flexed every muscle in his body. Within a few seconds the transformation was complete and a now enormous bear like Tetsuo stood beside Jag. He breathed deeply and a cloud of mist shot out of this animal like nostrils. The coal eyes were set deep in their sockets and the rim of gold began to this as the beast eyes took in every little detail. Jag took his favored defensive stance and held his sword accordingly with amazing steadiness. He locked gazes with the demons who seemed to be waiting for some sort of signal to attack. The slayer tensed up for a moment and then relaxed completely letting his body become loose and flowing so as to be able to react without hesitation or confliction. Remwar still sat behind his two man wall of allies becoming ever more calm in the face of a battle not to be taken lightly. As if on command the demons all leapt for their targets in unison. The battle cry of the infamous slayer and the roar of the beast within the hero rumbled in the night air. Using every skill ever taught to him and every ounce of control Jag deflected the claws and began dealing damage to the fierce fighting demons. His sword cut true to his will and the only hit he received was a backhand that drew no blood nor slowed him down. Tetsuo had somewhat more trouble fending off blows as he had no weapon to catch the blows with and no were near enough mobility to dodge the attacks he was forced to keep at a distance then go on the offensive and give as much damage as he could before returning to a safe distance. A good third of the demon force slipped by Jag and Tetsuo's defenses and headed confused towards a still motionless Remwar. One of them finally decided to attack. He sat back and lowered his base, raising a claw and preparing to strike. The other demons surrounded Rem and assumed the same stance. Their toes where two talons and their fingernails a seeming extension to their hand. They had dark greenish skin and distorted features common to their race. Some bits of armor hung loosely as if carelessly placed among their shoulders. They seemed to have been well seasoned in battle and one good attack was all that was needed to devastate their enemy. If this tactic failed their fangs and claws where dripping with slimy mucus that would eventually destroy their enemy through time. This was a great tactic to use in large scale battles between armies. And to send a group of these killing machines against three men might have seemed like over doing it. Nonetheless, these evil creatures of war remained completely focused and the one about to strike Remwar had planned out just how and where to aim. As the claws cut through the air in a boring motion heading straight for the heart of this hero he could just picture the sweet feeling of going into the coward's chest and feeling for the heart or any other goodies that might be contained within. The look on Remwar's face was still as cool as ever and he never appeared to move as the claw ripped through the after image of him. Not one second to soon did the hunter employ his special super speed technique. Because he had enough time to charge up Rem could move at super speeds for a substantial amount of time and at 0.7 times faster than usual. He realized the after effect of this would be unconsciousness once he was finished but he would not let one blow connect with his friends. Remwar had leapt above the well-placed attack and came down upon the demon with his sword. While the Demon Slayer could not usually cut through hell forge armor, with the velocity and force put behind it, the specially customized blade slit halfway through the chest plate on the adversary. Remwar's blade split the demon in two and in less that the blink of an eye, he left the group that had surrounded him and began aiding his two tired friends. Jag had held out barely against the onslaught but Tetsuo had received a few kicks and punches. He was currently holding onto the edge of the building as the demons toyed with him by swiping downward towards the bear's face. Rem cut two down before a third landed a lucky sidekick to his stomach as he was charging. Remwar stopped for a moment gasping for air as the force of the kick and the momentum he had, took affect in an incredible pain and loss of breath. As the demon retracted the foot it whirled around ready for a slash to the face. Suddenly a huge ball of fire came crashing out of the night and slammed into the demon setting it ablaze and off the building. Rem looked to see Kyron standing on the roof top his arm outstretched in his direction and palm smoking slightly. He smiled slightly before Remwar resumed his assault on the few left fighting Tetsuo. As he cut down another one, Rem managed to sneak a fleeting glance across his shoulder. Kyron and Jag seemed to be on the winning side of a battle, and of all people, Molluk was tearing apart a fleeing band of demons. Soon the last remaining enemies, who, to Remwar's credit put up one helluva battle and stood fighting till the end of a melee they could not win, feel dead to the cold roof tops surface. With the last bit of effort Remwar had within him, he slashed the final nemesis standing before him with an overhead arc that cut clean through the evil being, hell forge armor and all. Slowly Tetsuo pulled himself up from the building side in his human form. He smiled at Tetsuo as they both stood there, stains of acidic burns covering a few random spots on both of them. Remwar smiled back and then, kneeling with the sword as his only support, collapsed with exhaustion. Tetsuo knelt down and picked him up, walking over to the other heroes who stood in a circle silently, still letting the battle sink into their combat set minds. "Thanks for the rescue, you guys." Tetsuo spoke to Kyron and Molluk, who both seemed to be mostly unharmed. "I think we should get out of here." he said slowly heading off in the direction of a motel. Without a word the group followed...
