There are three types of pencil paints, one more rare than the other.
pencil paint
common
these are the equines which were discovered first. they are very common and roam all over the land of Tapalandar. the common pencil paint foal is always born as white as chalk, and then the patterns appear within 3 weeks from birth. markings are always a shade of grey, sometimes they are black. there are a couple of ways in which a paint can be patterned. common is an even spread of white/grey over the whole body. another is where there is more white than black, and vice versa. they can also be fleabitten, where they are covered in small spots. spotted is when there are areas with big spots around the body. - mech. pencil
elemental
fairly rare
they are stuctured just like their cousins but have elemental powers. the elements that scientists have discoverd are; fire, water, light, earth, metal, corral and air. light and metal are the rarest elements. - coloured pencil
jewels
very rare
these have been very hard to study as they are very shy and rare creatures. they are structured the same way as their cousins, but have a bright colouring, and are mosty found fleabitten, not so much "painted". the few people that have seen them say that the fleabitten markings are tiny stars.
