I know im not original. It doesnt matter.
I keep noticing how people say how addictif World of Warcraft is.

No shit its addictive.

Alot of crap in the internet are addictive. MMORPGs are a small percentage of them. Pretty much every MMORPG released since Ultima : online is addictive. Why? People tend to forget what an mmorpg is. Its not about having fun or playing a character that takes part upon a grand adventure.

Its about feeling superior to others, in ways of saying "my level 60 can clear this place faster than you noobs", "u nub, ur guy looks stupid", "I ownz0rs you beeyatch". Theres also the reason of actually making real money off an mmorpg, by selling things in the game to people who just want things but are not willing to earn them in their own time. Laziness pretty much.

I dont play RuneScape because I feel superior to others. I dont care about team effort. I dont care about being praised by kids over the internet because of my "high level", I dont care at all. Having an idol is ok I guess, but not one over the net.

Having a high level character in a game isnt really an achievement to be proud of nowadays. People will call you a no-lifer, a computer nerd/geek, an elitist (even though they dont know what the hell an elitist really is). Being high leveled in RuneScape is just for looks. The people who really know what the game is wont give a damn if you`re level 120-126 (126 being the maximum). Hell, you dont even get anything for 99 strength, the highest peak is 98. Getting that extra level would take days, hell only 2 if you were a member and played 20 hours a day, which is pretty much impossible since you would have to play without rest.

Back to WoW.

Level 60 is no achievement. It`s NOTHING. Absolutely NOTHING. The only reason players would get that level is to hope to get into a guild so you can get "super rare drops with a team". Thats not fun. Thats work. The work to go from level 1 to 60. How do you call that fun? How do you call a bunch of players in your guild swearing and cussing because "their healers forgot to heal, shamans forgot to use the proper spells, warriors forgot to fight whatever they were supposed to fight". Where the fuck is the fun in that? Where the fuck is the fun in spending hours, hell days of planning just to kill this npc/s? I fail to see it.

Remember, WoW isnt the only game where you sell goods in the game for real money. Go on ebay and search for the title of an mmorpg game. You`ll see auctions of people selling virtual crap. Even RuneScape, im not denying nor favoring anything.

If you really want to play an rpg with adventure in it, go play console games that arent online, those are the ones among the few that have the actual sense of adventure in them.

Long story short, stop saying World of Warcraft is addictive. Online games are addictive. Alot of shit in the internet is addictive. Crack is addictive. Anything that you let your minds get manipulated is addictive. Now shut the fuck up.
