She glowered darkly at the blue-gray egg, willing it to hatch. As if obeying her, it started to wiggle slightly. Recca was so surprised at this that she dropped it, where it rolled down the stone steps, out of sight.
"Oh no! My Evil Dragon of Death!" She cried. She was joined by the Laedrys, Cyan, who had seen her drop the egg. They raced down the steps, and came upon the shattered blue-gray shards of the egg. There was also a dark green shape laying on the ground.
Cyan knelt down beside the baby dragon. "Poor thing..." The tail began to twitch. "Oh!" Cyan cried. "I think she's okay!"
The dragon suddenly jumped up, knocking down Cyan to the floor. At the same time, Recca heard an angry, and decidedly male, voice in her head. Call me a girl again and I'll...do...something really bad to you. Oh, I don't know! Recca, help me out here!
Recca laughed happily. "Oh, don't worry about her, Saelm. We've got better things to do."
Right! Saelm said, racing to the Demoness. Unfortunately, he tripped over his sprawled wings over there, and landed up back on the floor.
"Er...At least when you're older." Recca decided.
