A'xes sighed in exasperation as his green dragon sniffed, eyes whirling blue and yellow. "Miasth, your clutch just hatched yesterday." He said, rolling his eyes.
So? They're my children! Miasth said. She left their weyr, winging her way down to the feeding grounds as A'xes groaned, laying his head in his hands.
"What's wrong?" His brother, Z'na asked as he entered the weyr.
A'xes looked up at his twin. "Oh, nothing. Except that my green dragon is too motherly for her own good." He muttered.
"...Uh huh."
A'xes rolled his eyes. "Where've you been, anyway?" He asked the dark-haired man, a stark contrast to A'xes's own light-blond hair and blue eyes. It was a wonder they were twins, being so different.
We were at Lantessama Isle. They've got some really interesting clutches there. Z'na's blue Michoth spoke up from outside. His eyes whirled amusedly as he rumbled. By all means, do not let Miasth find out about the summer clutch there.
"Huh?" A'xes said, glancing at his brother questioningly.
Z'na shrugged. "There's a special clutch at Lantessama. Summer cocktail dragons, or something like that. But anyway, the dragons are really small. The Laedrys said that it might be possible for someone to Impress more than one, even if they already have a dragon." Then he grinned. "Considering Miasth's pining over the hatching of her clutch, she'd probably insist that you try to stand so she can have some hatchlings to fuss over again."
A'xes snorted. He wouldn't put it past the green. He was doubly glad the green was busy feeding instead of paying attention, or else he'd likely never hear the end of it.
A sevenday later
A'xes! Miasth entered the weyr, eyes whirling blue-green excitedly. A'xes groaned as he lay in bed. It was too early for a hyper green dragon.
"What is it, Miasth?" He asked, climbing out of bed.
Well, I took a quick trip down to Lantessama Isle...

And A'xes, there's a clutch there that's allowing riders with dragons!
It was.
A'xes sighed. I was afraid of this. He thought to himself. "So, Miasth, are you going to insist we go there?"
Miasth eyes whirled bright green in a draconic version of the 'puppy-dog eyes.' But A'xes. They're so cute...
"Miasth..." He groaned. "What about Z'na? We couldn't just leave him here, could we?" He looked up at the green dragon, the look in his eyes saying that he would be more than happy to do just that. Ah, sibling rivalry.
Michoth said that Z'na said that they were going, so Z'na could Impress more dragons than you.
Oh, that tears it. A'xes thought. "Alright, there's no way that shaffing brother of mine is going to get more dragons than me! Come on, Miasth, we're going to Lantessama!"
Miasth's eyes whirled with excitement and amusement. Once again, the crafty green dragon had gotten her way.
