| The World Below is made up of an eclectic mix of peoples, some of who have been there for hundreds or even thousands of years.
However much in the World Below has been found or stolen, hence many wear a very odd mix of clothes. It is not uncommon to see a 16th Century Doublet, over a Black Sabbath tee-shirt with Nike trainers and formal trousers. Hence it is difficult to give guide-lines for costume. The one thing to remember is that most things Below have fallen through the cracks, and are lost or displaced, so there are very few new clean things. We've come up with some suggestions below 1) The Random method Go into a charity shop, buy everything then put it all on in no particular order. It you want to take a cheese-grater and some Fullers earth to it beforehand then please do 2) The Leftover Many of the residents of BB are from a time gone by, however they're not aware of these changes and many wear the clothes from "their time". It is not unusual to see people dressed in frockcoats, or victoriana or even roman legionnairres 3) The modern warrior Leathers, armour made from car body parts, spikes, knuckle dusters made from girder bolts. Easy to repair and replace, cheap and effective 4) The NHS chic Long johns, pyjamas, cressing gowns, or hospital robes. Some fell into Brighton Below following a short stay in hospital, and just never got around to getting something else to put on |

| Weapons & Armour.
Again really what ever you heart desires. In general only the very rich or powerful will have a complete set of matching armour. Hence we would suggest that a mix & match approach is for the best, a piece of plate-mail, some leather greaves, a patch of chain-mail, a piece of old car tyre etc. Use your imagination, as long as it is LRP safe then we are prepared to consider it as armour. Weapons cover a similar spectrum. Firearms do exist, but as there is no formal manufacturing in the World Below, weapons tend to be simple. So most firearms would be flint-locks or similar. Very rarely to modern weapons make it Below, and even then they soon cease to work. When they do they are coveted and loved until the ammunition runs out, then simply become impressive possessions. The most common weapon below is a knife, cudgel or shiv. They are easy to conceal, can be used in restricted space, and can be used as a tool. It tends to be all the weapon that most require. If you are playing a Bravo, we would suggest that perhaps something a tad more impressive may be required. Swords, axes, maces and spears are often wielded as are more modern weapons such as crowbars, fireaxesa and slegdehammers. Though within reason you may carry what ever you heart desires. It is well to note, that under market law, the drawing of a weapon could be frowned upon. It is clearly the precusor to an act of violence, and thus walking around with an unsheathed sword will cause you problems. |

| The Nobles attire
The Preston Household The Prestons are more militaristic than the other houses, and as such they tend to favour something functional or military in nature. They may not necessarily wear it all correctly, expect to see a naval dress jacket with a pair of torn jeans The Kemp Household The Kemps are generally a fairly lazy family. Many won't bother changing for several weeks or months, preferring to just get back to the partying. Some dont even bother dressing at all. The younger generations tend to wear "party clothes", though obviously party clothes styles have changed over the generations The Roe Household Being cursed with the Sewerblight, they Roes are hideously disfigured. They compensate for this by wearing the most elaborate and beautiful clothes and masks as they can manage. Doublets and frockcoats are common amongst the higher ranks, as are highly imaginitive and decorative masks The Palmeira Household Lady Palmeira (like all of the other Heads of the Households) is from a time gone by and she continues to wear the victorian dress which she grew up with. It is thought that she encourages her staff and household to follow an equally "reserved" style of dress, even if it is not from the period. Displays of flesh are not approved of |
