| Tarot Cards ( Cartomancy ) Tarot cards first became popular in the royal courts of the Italian provinces in the early 1400's and they are the basis for standard playing cards.. The deck is comprised of 78 cards. The two sections are the minor and major arcana.The minor arcana is similar to a standard playing card deck : ace to ten with one additional court card , the Page, to give us the equivalent of Page, Jack , Queen and King (Page , Knight , Queen and King). These 56 cards are the Minor Arcana. Then there are the Major arcana cards, such as the Sun, Moon, Lovers , the Priestess and of course the Devil and Death cards. Neither of the last two cards have antthing to do with evil or physical death, but rather choices and renewal. Tarot cannot tell you your future, it may however explain why things are the way they are and help you find the best wayto achieve the future you would like to live. Insight into particular situations can give you insight and the warning of a challenge. Tarot is the ideal divination for assessing the "here and now" and where you go from here. Many different systems of laying out cards are utilized including the 10 card Celtic Spread also one. three and five card readings are very commonly used. My five card spread is based on the following attributes or traits Intent, Motivation, Emotions, Manifestation and Forecast. A standard playing card deck can be used very successfully for readings. Palm Readings ( Chiromancy) Everyone's hand is covered with a number of lines and shapes, and like finger prints, every hand is different and totally unique. Even the individual's own right and left hand. In Palmistry, each line has a specific purpose and indicates one or more traits of the person. As well as lines, the shape of the hands, the length of the fingers, flexibility, bone structure, thumb movement and even the nail development can tell a reader things about a person's vigor, relationships, career choices and social interactions. Contrary to popular belief there is generally no obvious way to indicate the number of children you will have , who you will marry and how long of a life you will live. It is the quality of your life and not the length of your life that should be a measure of a successful life. Palm reading is very good for finding out why things are the way they are and what you strengths and weaknesses may be. Runes ( Lithomancy or Logomancy) The history of Runes goes back to at least 300 B.C. . The current system of reading is based on thesystem used by the early Viking and Norse cultures of Northern Europe. A set of Runes consists of 24 or 25 tiles, blocks or stones, each has a specific meaning such as Constraint, Strength , Fertility or Growth. Each Rune's attributes can be altered depending on the placement of other Runes or if they are inverted (upside down) In a three Rune reading , Runes are used to seek a direct answer, with one Rune being the situation, the next being the action required and the third being the outcome. Readings can be done by simply using one stone or all of them. Runes are one of the best divination tools for a quick and usually clear reading on a particular single subject. Handwriting Analysis ( Graphology) Modern Handwriting Analysis was developed in England by Scotland Yard to track criminal activity. It's roots , however go back to antiquity and are found in numerous cultures . Each culture had a different way of analysis of the shape and strokes of each letter. The analyis can be done of writing in any language as with this system the rules apply to all. In the study of graphology, the " medium is the message" , It may be more important how you write rather than what you write. The spacing , letter formation, size and style of loops and every aspect of letter development can indicate some personality trait. Even how and where you dot your "i"'s and cross your "t"'s will say something about you. In a relaxed casual analysis , we find more fun than function, in highly detailed analysis not only general psychological traits are ascertained, but emotional and physical development. Tea Leaf or Coffee Ground Reading (Tasseography) The reader intuitively relates messages brought forth by the patterns in the tea or coffee cup.This is a very pleasant and spiriyually rewarding method of divination. This age old practice was originated in Greece where they used wine sediment to receive omens and symbols for interpretation. |
