Could anyone ever forget watching The Beatles first appearence on The Ed Sullivan Show? What about all those movies that we just had to see...

Then there were those Satuday morning Beatles cartoons!
All of these were the ground breaking forces for today's popular music videos.
To think of George as only a former Beatle would be seriously selling the man short!
I believe that his solo material is also his best.
Listening to his songs it is difficult not to feel that you in some way knew him. They seemed to say so much about him. Songs such as "My Sweet Lord", "Life Itself", and "What Is Life" revealed the importance of things spiritual in his life. A sense of humor and the ability to laugh, even at his own problems, are evident in songs such as "This Song" and "Crackerbox Palace" from his album 33 1/3.
A caring and compassionate man, he arranged the very first benefit concert featuring major
recording artists, The Concert for Bangladesh.
He also produced several films, inluding "Time Bandits" and "Shanghai Surprise".
Not to be forgotten is the Traveling Wilburys a group formed with fellow performing greats, Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Roy Orbison. Their material was a wonderful blend of the musical styles of all five members.
So we bid farewell to a man of great talent, but knowing that his spirit will live on in his music, on films, and certainly in our own hearts. Although the journey of his life on this earth may have ended, I prefer to think that he has just begun a new journey with the Lord he sought throughout his life.
