Clinton Outrages

Where to begin another article about politics? The events of the last couple of weeks have been mindboggling. Clinton's egregious abuse of power in his last hours, the unforgivable personal attacks on John Ashcroft, the national humiliation of eggs being thrown at the Presidential limousine in the inaugural parade, and the revolting image of a small child, held up in (presumably) his parent's arms, holding a burning American flag--all of this ties together. There can be no wonder why America no longer gets any respect in many parts of the world. The Clintons are either the two most crooked, innately evil two people in the world, or they are the two stupidest people in the world. I would argue that both of these are true. Americans should be full of outrage and shame at the actions of the Clintons. They should also be disturbed by the abusive attacks on John Ashcroft. Clinton's pardon of Marc Rich is political graft and bribery, pure and simple. Slick Willie's only defense of his action so far is to say that Jack Quinn didn't give him all the facts and that he made his decision to pardon Rich without really even knowing what the case against Rich was. What a great way to lead the country. I know I want a President who makes critical decisions without even looking at the facts of the matter. We all know, of course, that Comrade Clinton knew what he was doing when he granted that pardon, and we know why he did it--that pardon was bought and paid for by Denise Rich. I must add here that I am quite disappointed in President Bush's decision not to try and undo this gross injustice of law and decency. Rich was indicted on 51 serious charges, including trading with the Iranians while America denounced the Ayatollah and prayed for the return of the many hostages they held for so long, and he ran away; he has never had to face justice; he has (when it was convenient to his legal position) renounced his American citizenship. He should be tried and punished to the furthest extent possible by law. I am just thankful that Clinton didn't pardon the Texas prison escapees since he seems to equate running from justice with proof of innocence.

Justice has to mean something in America. What can we do to truly restore greatness to our country? We have to enforce the laws on the books, and we must restore morality and honesty in the White House. The second objective has been accomplished with the election of George W. Bush, and now, with Ashcroft at the Justice Department, we will be able to meet the first objective. After eight years of Reno justice, we finally have an attorney general who will bring true justice back to our legal system. In Clinton-Reno's America, we fought drugs by freely distributing needles to dope addicts rather than pursuing, catching, trying, and sentencing drug dealers; we blamed the deaths of children living in drug-dealing households on guns and the NRA and sought to undermine the Second Amendment rather than put the drug dealers in prison. Clinton and Reno essentially refused to enforce the gun laws we have on the books, and they voluntarily walked away from a comprehensive gun control bill supported by the NRA because they wanted a waiting period of a couple more days than the bill called for. Anyone doubting Clinton's softness on crime, especially drugs, need only review the list of pardons so graciously meted out by our former President at the midnight hour of his reign of terror. Finally, with John Ashcroft heading our justice system, criminals will no longer be granted freedom of movement and freedom from prosecution.

Certainly, we can all understand why Bill and Hillary would not want a strong legal system; after all, criminals have no love for our laws. I am going to give some benefit of the doubt to the Democrats as a whole, however, and assume that they actually do care about our laws and the proper enforcement of them. Thus, there is no way they can have opposed Ashcroft's nomination on those grounds. All of our Senators know that Ashcroft is an honorable man who will enforce the laws, even those he disagrees with. When some of them say that Ashcroft won't enforce abortion laws because he is pro-life, that is a ridiculous argument Do Republicans argue that any Attorney General who opposes the death penalty can't be A.G. because some states put society's condemned miscreants to death? Of course not. Ashcroft is pro-life, religious, a defender of freedom, his own man. The Democrats tell us these are bad qualities in a person. The Democrats want a society of lemmings who will follow their commands without question or careful contemplation. Yet somehow, if a person is anti-life, anti-religious, and a walking puppet for the Democratic elite, that person is a great American and nothing that person thinks can possibly interfere in his doing a superb job. If you support the murder of innocent babies, no one questions your character in Washington. If you want to expunge the Second Amendment from the Constitution, no one questions your abilities or willingness to enforce the laws of the land.

This whole Ashcroft debate comes down to one thing only--abortion. The whole fabric of our government now rests squarely on the abortion issue. The Democrats methodically and shamelessly tried to destroy the character and life of a great, honorable man, a man who has served his state and his country admirably for many, many years, a man whose integrity they knew first-hand from having served with him in the Senate. Why did they do this? It was to send a message to President Bush that no pro-life justice will ever serve on our Supreme Court. That's all it was about, folks. The Democrats will throw away common decency, they will attack even the most honorable of men, and they will put aside the "big" issues they claim to care so much about --all for abortion. They care more about the murders of countless innocent babies than they do anything else in this country. Think about that. Legalized murder--not the economy, not foreign policy, not "social" programs, certainly not individual rights and freedom-- determines the Democratic agenda in Washington.

Frankly, I am just disgusted and flabbergasted by the extent of liberalism's pernicious influence in American society. We conservatives truly are the only hope this country has for restoring the greatness and morality of these United States. We alone fight endlessly for personal freedom and individualism. We must never stop, never make any concession, and never give up. I am proud to be a conservative, I am proud to love and respect the Constitution and the men who wrote it; I am fervent in my defense of the Second Amendment and every Constitutional freedom that the liberals want to take away from you and me, and most of all I am wholeheartedly opposed to the murder of innocent babies. Abortion truly is the source of many of this country's ills. When a country makes cold-blooded murder--including procedures where a significantly-developed fetus is pulled apart piece by piece from his mother's womb and plopped into a bloody bucket --a "right" and a "freedom," there is very little hope left for that society. If life is not considered sacred, how can morality, family values, law and order, and compassion for one's fellow man ever flourish or even survive?
