It is now time to begin the
finals between Yugi and Joey, as they are the only
two duelists left. Tea can't understand why they
would fight. Yugi is apprehensive about battling
his best friend, but with Joey's insistence, he
makes the resolve to test both of their skills.
Yugi starts off, with Joey taking a slight lead.
Joey and Bakura realize that Yugi isn't taking the
match very seriously. Yugi then starts making his
comeback with Gaia the Fierce Night and then his
Summoned Skull. Joey was waiting for him to play
that card, and a quick combo of Shield and Sword
and the Flamed Swordsman, Joey quickly destroys
Yugi's Summoned Skull. Yugi then plays Curse of
Dragon and combines him the Gaia the Fierce Night
to form Gaia the Dragon Champion.
Joey's in a
tight spot, but with a brilliant card play of Red Eyes Black Dragon,
Grave Digger to grab the Summoned Skull from Yugi's Cemetery and the
CopyCat to copy Yugi's Polymerization card, he fuses his Red Eyes and
the Summoned Skull into Black Skull Dragon! With this monster on the
field, Joey stand a good chance of taking this match and beating Yugi.
But Yugi tells Joey that the match is not over yet and the duelist
prepare for the final battle.
