| Welcome to Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire. For those of you who imported the games so you can try them out before the English versions of the games are released in March, hopefully this walkthrough helps you get through the games. So, let?s begin! Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire start out like all the other games. The new professor introduces you to the world of Pokemon. He even shows you an Azurill. The first choice you have to make is whether you want to be a boy or girl trainer in the game. The top choice is boy and the bottom choice is girl (it also shows their pictures). The next option is for you to choose a name. There are some pre-loaded names you can choose from, or if you select the first option, you can make your own name. The first list of characters it gives you is Katakana. To the right you will see a button that says Select below it. Choose that to go to the Hiragana menu. Choose it one more time and it loads the English menu. Have you choose a name, go down to the button that says Start below it and choose it. It will then ask you to confirm your name, select the first option to do that. Starting the Game / Mishiro Town You are now ready to begin your Pokemon journey! Your character will appear in the back of a truck with boxes. After the truck stops moving, the door to the right will open. Hop out of the truck. When you get out of the truck, your mom will run out of the house and get you. She will take you inside your house. After she is done talking to you, head upstairs. You can also see the Machoke helping you move in. =) Once upstairs, go to the clock on the wall and press A. You now need to set the clock inside the game. After you set the time, press A. You then need to confirm the time - select the bottom option to do that. After you set the clock your mom will come upstairs and talk to you . Once she leaves, follow her downstairs. She will show you what?s on TV. When all the talking is over, you need to head outside. Once outside, go to the other house in the town (the 2 houses are the same size, the large building is the Professor?s Lab). When you walk inside, your rival?s mom will talk to you. When she is done, head up stairs. You will see your rival standing by the desk. If you chose to be the boy trainer, your rival will be the girl trainer. If you chose to be the boy trainer, your rival will be the girl trainer. Now go talk to your rival. When they are done talking, your rival will leave. Now go downstairs and exit the house. From here you want to head to the north. You will see a path that leaves the town with a little boy standing at the beginning of the path. When you start to walk to the north the little boy will stop and talk to you. When he is done talking, continue to walk to the north. You will see the Professor being attacked by a Pochiena. You need to help the Professor. How do you do that? Walk over to the bag on the ground and press A. It is now time to pick your first Pokemon! The PokeBall on the left has the Grass Starter, Treecko. The middle PokeBall has the Fire Starter, Torchic. And the PokeBall on the right has the Water Starter, Mudkip. Select the Pokemon you want and press A. Then confirm the selection by choosing the first option that shows up. It is now time for battle! Pochiena is only at lv 2 and the starters are at lv 5, so you shouldn?t have too much of a problem knocking out the Pochiena. After you defeat the Pochiena, the Professor will talk to you and you will end up in the Lab in your hometown (Mishiro Town). In the lab, the Professor will let you keep the Pokemon you chose to save him. If you want to name your Pokemon, select the first option that shows up. After you name your starting Pokemon, the Professor will ask you to go to Route 103. So leave the town and get on your way. On Your Way to Route 103 To get to Route 103, you just have to keep on heading north. After leaving Mishiro Town, you will go through Route 101. You have to walk through grass so you may encounter wild Pokemon. After Route 101 you will come to Kotoki Town. You can now go inside the first Pokemon Center in the game. Go inside the Pokemon Center if you need to heal your Pokemon. You will see a house to the right. There should be a man standing to the left of it. Talk to him and he will show you to the store in town. He will give you an item that will heal your Pokemon by 20 HP for letting him show you the store. After Kotoki Town, continue going north. You will now be on Route 103. You need to get to the top of Route 103, so continue walking north. At the very top of Route 103 you will see your rival. Talk to your Rival and you will have a battle against their starting Pokemon. After you beat your Rival, head back south to Kotoki Town. You will see your Rival at the south end of town. Talk to your Rival and then continue south back to Mishiro Town. Go to the Lab in Mishiro Town and you will see the Professor and your Rival inside. While talking to the Professor and your Rival, you will receive your PokeDex and 5 PokeBalls. Your PokeDex is the first option in the start menu. To find your PokeBalls, go through your bag until you find the item that has x5. Now go outside and start to walk north again. Your mom will stop you and talk to you. Your mom will now give you your running shoes. You can now hold down the B button and run instead of walk. Now head back up north to Kotoki Town. In Kotoki Town, go to the left and leave the town. Route 102 You will now be on Route 102. Now that you have 5 PokeBalls, feel free to catch any Pokemon you see along the way. You will run into a few trainers along the way. The Pokemon they have aren?t to tough to beat, so have fun fighting them and gaining experience. At the top of Route 102 there are 2 trees that you can pick fruit off of if you want. Continue on Route 102 to the left. After Route 102 you will come to Touka City. Touka City Heal your Pokemon at the Pokemon Center if you need to. You will see a Gym in Touka City, but if you try to enter it, you can?t. So head to the left and leave the city. Before you leave a boy will stop you and will take you to the front of the Gym. You can now go inside the gym, so go ahead and go inside. Inside the gym is your dad - yep, your dad is a Gym Leader! But surprise! This isn?t the first gym you will battle in. Talk to your dad and a boy will walk inside. The boy will take you outside and to a patch of grass. He will then show you how to catch a Pokemon. After he catches the Pokemon you end up back in the Gym. After your dad is done talking head outside again. It?s now time to leave Touka City. Do so by going to the left. You will end up on Route 104. Route 104 On Route 104, you can go two different ways. Go down to the beach or walk up on the grass. It doesn?t matter which way you decide to go, you will end up at the same spot. The only difference is that the grass has areas where wild Pokemon will attack and the beach has a trainer to fight. You will see a dock with a boat near a building, but if you enter the building, nobody is there. So continue up where you will see two trees, take the fruit from them if you want. Head to the left and there will be another trainer for you to battle. You will see the path go into a forest, so follow it and you will be in Touka Forest. Touka Forest When you first enter Touka Forest, go to the right. You will see a different exit. Go out of the forest and you will see an item to pick up, it is a PokeBall. Now go back inside the forest. Now head to the left, there will be a trainer there to fight you. Head to the north and you will see another item to take, it cures paralysis on a Pokemon. Continue through the forest until see you a person in green. He will be looking around then come talk to you. While he is talking to you, a Team Magma or Team Aqua member (depending on the version you are playing) will come up behind him. The guy in green will then hide behind you and it is up to you to fight the Team Magma/Team Aqua member. After you beat him, the team member will run away. The man in green will talk to you more and then give you a Super Ball. After that, he will run away too. After that is all over with, continue north through the forest. You will see one more item in the forest, it restores PP in an attack you choose. You will come up to the exit to the forest, so head on out. You will end up on a different section of Route 104 Route 104 To the right you will see a boy, talk to him and he will give you TM09. There are also two trees there, so take the fruit if you want. The building just to the north of the trees is a flower shop. Talk to the people inside the flower shop and you will receive some items, though I?m not 100% sure on what they are for. Head up behind the flower shop and there will be an item that you can take. Now head right on Route 104. There are two trainers that will battle you if they see you. Head up the bridge and you will see a pair of twins. Talk to them if you want to try out your first 2 vs 2 battle! Continue up the bridge until you are across. Go to the right to find two trees that you can take fruit off of. Talk to the older lady and she will give you an item. You can then talk to the fisherman if you want to battle. Head north and you will enter Kanazumi City. Kanazumi City When you first enter Kanazumi City, head into the tall building to the left. A child on the 2nd floor will give you a Prime Ball. Next head to the building right behind the tall building. A man inside there will give you HM01, Cut. Then head into the building just north of the water fountain in town. Talk to the teacher (the man by the chalkboard) and he will end up giving you an item. If you are all ready, head into the gym. This is the first gym you will battle in. In this gym, you will face different Rock type Pokemon. The first trainer inside the gym uses: lv 10 Geodude, lv 8 Geodude, and a lv 6 Geodude. The second trainer in the gym uses: lv 11 Geodude. Now it is time to battle the gym leader. She uses: lv 14 Geodude and lv 15 Nozupasu. For beating the gym leader you receive your first badge and TM39. When you walk out of the gym, after defeating the Gym Leader, you will see a Team Magma/Aqua member run by and the man in green following after him. Before you follow them, you should probably heal your Pokemon at the Pokemon Center. Now head to the north. At the edge of the city, to the right you will see the man in green. Go and talk to him. After he is done, keep on going right to Route 116. Route 116 Make your way going right on Route 116. There will be different trainers to fight and some items you can pick up along the way. You will come to a cave with an old man standing outside. Talk to the old man and head on in. You will see a Team Magma/Aqua member by a Kyamona. First go get the item that you see, it is a PokeBall. Now head over to the team member. They will back up - but then go talk to the team member. You will then battle him. After beating him, the team member will run away. The old man from outside will now come in and talk to you. You just saved his Pokemon. They will then walk out of the cave. If you walk anymore to the right in the cave, you will see it is blocked for now. So head back out to Route 116. Before you head back to Kanazumi City, go by the house near the cave. You can fit in between two of the trees. You will see a small tree which you can use cut on. Go through this area until you come to an area with 4 trees with fruit and an item you can take. The item restores the PP of an attack by 10. Now head back to Kanazumi City. Kanazumi City When you first enter the city, the man in green will talk to you again. He will give you a SuperBall and then take you inside a building. He will take you to talk to a man behind a desk, who will give you an item and your Pokemon Navigator. Your Pokemon Navigator is in found in your main menu. It features a map, info for Pokemon Contests, and your Trainer Eye that keeps track of everybody you battle. Go ahead and exit the building and head to the Pokemon Center to heal your Pokemon. Travel south in Kanazumi City and you will see your rival there. Talk to them, then go ahead and leave Kanazumi City - going on to Route 104. Route 104 Head south on Route 104 and go back into Touka Forest. Keep on going south and leave Touka Forest. You should be back on the south end of Route 104. Head back inside the building by the dock with the boat. Inside you will see the old man by the cave chasing after Kyamona. Talk to the old man and select the first option that comes up. You are then going on a boat ride. The boat will take you to Muro Town. Muro Town When you first get to Muro Town, enter the building next to the dock. A person inside will give you an item. Go back outside and just south of the dock you should see a man in a red and white hat. Talk to him and choose the first option that comes up. He will then give you your first fishing rod. To get the fishing rods to work, go to your backpack and select the rod when you are next to water. Wait for any exclamation points (!) to show up and press the A button. If you aren?t fast enough, you won?t hook the Pokemon in the water. You may now enter the gym in Muro Town. You will fight Fighting type Pokemon in this gym. In this gym, you start out with only a little bit of light. Every time you beat a trainer inside the gym, that light will become larger. To get to the gym leader, start off by going all the way to the right. A girl trainer will see you then battle you. She uses: lv 14 Asanan. After beating her, go straight up then turn to the left. Once you get to another pathway, go up again. Then turn to the right. Follow this path and you will get to the gym leader sitting on a couch. There are other trainers in this gym, but this is a quick way to find the gym leader. The gym leader in this gym uses: lv 17 Machop and lv 18 Mawanoshita. Once you beat the gym leader, you will receive your badge. You will now be able to control Pokemon up to level 30 and will receive TM 08. You will now be able to use HM 05, Flash. But we don?t have that yet, so let?s go get it! Head back outside and go to the Pokemon Center to heal your Pokemon. Go back outside and head north. You will end up on Route 106. There will be 2 fisherman on Route 106 that will want to battle you, so go ahead and do that. Then head over to the cave you see to the left. Once inside the cave, you will see a hiker. Talk to him to receive HM 05, Flash. Teach it to one of your Pokemon, because it will help you in just a minute. Continue to the left in the cave. You will come to an area with an item and a ladder. Take the item then head up the ladder. You will now be on a new level of the cave but will only have a little area of light. Use Flash to make the circle of light grow. Head north as far as you can go, then go to the right. You will see that you have the option of going to the south or keep going to the right. If you go south here, you can pick up a PokeBall. But then continue to go right as far as you can go, then head south to see another ladder. Go on the ladder and head to the next area. Go to the north and then head to the left. Go up the stairs then head to the right. You will see another set of stairs that leads to a rock on a platform. Walk up to that walk and press A to receive an item. Go back down those stairs and continue going right. You will see another ladder, you know what to do. You will end up in an area with another ladder to the left, go up there. Head to the left as far as you can go. Then go south to see a door. Head on in. Inside you will see a man standing, go talk to him. He will give you TM 47. Head outside the cave and just jump down the ledges down to the main level of the cave. Then head back outside. Head back into Muro Town and heal your Pokemon if you need to. Now head back to the dock where the old man is standing by the boat. Talk to the old man and select the middle option when given the chance. He will take you on another boat ride and will drop you off on Route 109, just south of Kaina City More information comming soon.... |
