| Peace january 1997 Her dreams were always wonderful, peaceful. The nightmares were something different. They were so vivid, filling her heart with terror everytime they came. She awoke one night, like she had so many others, as the scream escaped her lips. But, he was there, standing in the shadows of her bedroom. Watching. Waiting. The first time she realized he was there, she had thought he was part of her nightmare. Instead of fear though, his presence made her feel safe. That night, he slowly walked towards her bed, and placing his hand upon her cheek he said 'sleep my angel'. And she did. Over the weeks, the nightmares continued to come, filling her with fear, and yet, she almost looked forward to them knowing that he would be there when she woke. Sitting on her bed, his hand on hers, those dark peircing eyes full of sorrow and longing, comforting her. He was staring out the window last night when she woke. She said 'tell me who you are'. He turned, smiling, the sharp points of his teeth glistening in the moonlight and said 'you already know who i am'. And she did. As he sat on the bed beside her, she turned her head, offering to him her neck. With a hint of sadness in his voice, he said 'no, you are not ready'. She asked 'why?' He replied, 'you don't know what you offer. My world is filled with darkness, and once you enter, there is no way to escape.' She was silent for a moment, and then she spoke. 'This world, my world, is full of fear and pain. The only times i felt safe were when thoughts of my death bringing me peace filled my mind. You changed that. You have awakened my spirit and have shown me another side of life. In my world i have only death, but by giving me your world, you give me life. My soul belongs to you. I offer you my blood. Please, give me peace. Give me death in my world, or life in yours, but give me peace.' She could see the tears glistening in his eyes as he said 'sleep my angel'. And she did. The nightmare was the worst it had ever been. When she awoke with tears running down her cheeks, he was there to catch them. As he held her tightly in his arms, her long hair fell away from her shoulder, revealing her neck to him. She saw the look of hunger, of passion in his eyes, replacing the sorrow and longing. 'Take me' she whispered in his ear. He shook his head no. She looked into his eyes for a long moment and then kissed him gently. 'Make love to me' she purred. He held her, staring deeply into her eyes, her soul, and knew his hungers could no longer be denied. As their ecstacy gave way to pure rapture, he took her. She had given him everything. Her love, her soul and light in his darkness. He gave her the only thing he could offer. Peace. by darkest angell |
