Sabin Duel

Sabin smirks slightly to you. "Well, let's find out just how well you can handle them then." He flicks his wrists and speaks a single word, as three vines erupt from his palm, shooting straight for your face, torso and legs, giant thorns growing quickly from the green stalks, which in turn thicken as the advance towards you, intent on crushing the life from your body and draining your blood into the ground.

Kalisani stands unflinching as the thorny vines wrap themselves around her slender frame. As the points press into her skin, blood slowly drips out. The blood spreads quickly, the drow soon being completely hidden from view behind bloody vines. As you watch the slithering vines start slipping, apparently unable to maintain their grasp on the young druid. Flailing, they try desperately to continue squeezing the life out of Kalisani, who seems to have created a steel frame around her body. The frame slowly expands, the vines stretching beyond their reach and ripping into pieces that fall lifelessly to the ground. As the last vine falls, the frame explodes, sending thousands of steel shards streaming through the air at the old Ranger.

Sabin watches as his vines are destroyed, and stand, waiting as the deadly hail descend on him. It almost seems as if the old man is frozen, perhaps scared that finally his time has come. You notice a small bit of movement at the last second, as Sabin simple crosses his right index finger over the middle digit. Instantly, the young druid and the elder are juxtaposed, switched in space in the blink of an eye. The poor girl suddenly finds herself at the mercy of her own attack, and with barely a fraction of a second to save herself.

Kalisani smiles as the switch takes place, closing her eyes as bits of steel dig into her flesh, wriggling their way into her blood stream where they dissolve back into the substance they were formed from. With a little smile, Kalisani pulls a long sword from thin air. "I hear you're not bad with a blade." Without further ado she leaps forward, bringing the sword in a graceful arch that, if unhindered, will end up slicing from Sabin's right collarbone to his lowest left rib. In the air, she lifts a cris-bladed dagger with her right hand and aims it toward Sabin's heart.

Sabin smiles as the watches the steel drawn and simple grins. "Finally, real combat." As he watches you leap into the air, he simply shakes his head at the impetuousness of youth. There is a shimmer beside the former woodsage, and in his right hand, a large and deadly looking halberd forms. The staff stand a foot taller than the already six and a half foot man, and the twin axe blade gleam with malice. At the top though is a six inch spike, the most deadly part of the weapon at this point for Kalisani. Lifting the weapon easily, Sabin crouches down and grips hard, aiming the head at the unfortunate girl who is coming toward him in mid-air, about to impale herself before being able to land a blow.

Kalisani grins as her keen eyes catch Sabin's movement. Tucking her head and bringing her arms to her sides she rolls forward into a mid-jump flip. As her body rotates, she lifts her sword again swinging it sharply into the staff, her blade sliding just inches above her opponent's head. The impact of the sword on the staff gives her enough momentum to reposition herself, landing in a squatting position just behind Sabin, where her knife wielding hand strikes forward, the knife seeking out something under the skin of Sabin's lower back. Meanwhile she pulls the sword away from the staff, arching it above her head, and back down towards where she predicts Sabin will move in response to her knife.

Sabin smiles as he watches everything in slow motion, his trained eyes following your movements, his mind calculating your next move even as he appreciates the fluidity and grace in your actions. He listens and feels the air around him move as your body does, and smiles. Doing the last thing you'd expect, he steps back, into the attack. Though, just as your dagger penetrates his shirt, the skilled hunter spins easily, facing you directly. His halberd has disappeared as easily as it had appears, and with his free hands, Sabin catches your dagger wrist and pulls you forward and off balance, again moving with your body. With a simple twist of the wrist and a quick step, Sabin has you face down on the forest floor, your arm twist around painfully, his knee positioned behind your elbow, your wrist pushed downwards painfully, and his foot on the back of your neck. "Now, where should i start breaking....your fingers? Your wrist? Your elbow, or maybe your shoulder? Or should i just snap your neck and be done with it? Hmmmm?"

Kalisani laughs, putting up no resistance as her body is pushed forward and her arm is twisted around her back. With a chuckle she turns her head around further than you would think possible to gaze at you with one steel coloured eye. "I'd like you see to try to break something." Swinging her left leg upwards she bumps it gently against her opponents arse in a half teasing way. Then she digs the fingertips of her left hand into ground. A deep rumbling comes as the skeletons of many creatures of old climb through the ground, surrounding the duellists. Bright, shiny weapons of various types form on their fingertips as they reach out toward Sabin, ready to tear him limb from limb if there isn't enough to go around.

Sabin chuckles and looks around. With a nod from his head, each of the skeletons drops into a heap on bones, lifeless as before. He releases your arm and steps away, smiling at you. "Not bad."
