Rambunctious and full of energy, Tomo Takino is the liveliest member of the group. Tomo is definitely not the most dedicated of students. In fact, she could care less about learning and is prone to copy the homework of her friends to get by. In a way, Tomo gives the distinct impression that she must be a lot like what Miss Yukari was like back when she was in school. Naturally, she gets along well with her teacher. Tomo's best friend since childhood however is Yomi, who she loves to antagonize, much to Yomi's displeasure.
The one thing that gets Tomo more revved up than anything is challenging everyone to a host of bizarre contests. Everything from Swimming contests with Sakaki to cute contests with Chiyo-chan, if she thinks she has to prove herself, she'll do it. While these competitions usually never result in a victory for Tomo, that doesn't stop her from setting up the next exciting competition.
