Voodoo, is the practice of true necromancy perpetuated by dark ritual and human sacrifice.. Voodoo Priests and Priestesses often walk a darker path then other animators. Many animators practiced voodoo at some point in their lives in one form or another.
The clearest example of Voodoo power run amuck in the books is Dominga Salvadore, Vaudun Priestess and Necromancer. She is one of the most powerful voodoo priestesses in St. Louis. Her basement is her humfo, where she stores much of her magic.
Dominga could be called evil although that declaration seems insufficient. She has found a way to "capture a soul in a bottle." She then raises the body as a zombie and inserts the soul, making a docile slave that will not rot like a normal zombie. She also let a zombie rot a while, and then stuck the soul back so the creature would stay partially decomposed. Dominga sent a pair of zombies to kill Anita, but all they ended up doing was messing up her toy collection and pissing her neighbors off. Also under Dominga's control was a genuine monster which she made and kept in the basement.
Using Anita's hair and nails, Dominga was able to create a spell of compulsion to force her to obey her commands. She wanted Anita to do a human sacrifice in order to raise a very old zombie. Anita managed to work the spell to her favor and kill two bodyguards instead. Using the two human deaths Anita used zombies to kill her.
