The following powers and abilities are available to all lycanthropes regardless of whether they are a lesser or an alpha lycanthrope.
Improved Strength
All Lycanthropes upon their first change are gifted with increased and enhanced physical strength. The Average lycanthrope can lift a car over their heads or punch right through a wall clear to the other side. Its difficult to measure exactly how much stronger a lycanthrope becomes due to the change, but the average is about 10 times the normal human strength.
Improved Speed
Lycanthropes are faster than both humans and vampires. They are just simply quicker and better. No mind tricks, natural ability. With this speed comes a natural animalistic grace to their movements. Quick, agile, liquidly graceful.
Improved Senses
Lycanthropes can hear and smell with crystal clarity at such a heightened state that even the newest werewolf is able to smell fear, lust, and even the small subconscious olfactory scents associated with lying. They may not be able to recognize what it is they are scenting, but its there. Lycanthropes can even sense and smell when another of their kind is near. For group minded animals, they are able to get a scent of pack, pard or rodere on the newcomer if they're part of the local population and if the shifter themselves is part of that group. Other than the familiar smell of the pack for example, shifters can scent another lycanthrope, but generally they arent able to tell the species.
Lesser Lycanthrope Powers
The following powers are available for lesser lycanthropes to choose from during initial character creation, and for character ability update requests.
Control Change in Self
With this ability, the lycanthrope is able to control and keep themselves from shifting during situations of strong emotions, anger, fear , holding the shift back or staving it off completely until it is convenient for them to shapshift. Using this power gets increasingly more difficult the closer each full moon is. On the night of the full moon, the shifter cannot fully hold back the change and must shift, this power allows them to choose the time and place is all. NOTE: Having this ability does not counter act the alpha power to control the shift of a lycanthrope.
Tracking/Hunting
With this skill the lycanthrope is exceptionally good at tracking and hunting. Better and beyond the normal enhanced abilities of other lycanthropes.
Enforcer/Bodygaurd
A lycanthrope who shows cababilities of being a bodygaurd or enforcer has a natural innate talent to sense out potential dangerous situations and knows how to react to them, generally not losing their focus. Keeping calm, cool and collected. Lycanthropes with this ability and skill set know how to fight. (Keep that in mind when choosing this. You may be expected to back it up)
Fast Shift to Animal
Shapeshifting isnt a quick or easy process and takes time. Timing a lycanthropes shift during dangerous situations can be critical. A lycanthrope with this ability is able to cut the time of a shape shift in half and rapidly shift into their animal or half animal forms.
Facial Manipulation
With this ability, the lycanthrope is able to physically alter their facial appearance to slight degrees. Its not an illusion. Its actual facial reconstruction by shifting bones and flesh within their face. The extent of the changes are subtle and innocuous. A lycanthrope with this ability can alter his or her appearance to look like a sibling, or a cousin or appear younger or older. Its enough of a change to be distinguishable as a different person , but not so much that the resemblance isnt seen.
Call Flesh
This is a very strong ability, and it is very rare. With this power, the lycanthrope is able to use their own energy to coax another lycanthrope of the same species to increase the natural healing effects of a lycanthrope. Shifters with this power do not actually heal the individual themselves, rather they are able to use their power to force the wounded shifter to start the quick healing process. Its not 100 percent and the wounded shifter will still feel the effects of the wounds until their body is able to fully regenerate, but it is still a lifesaving power.
Alpha
Not a power, rathr the ability to become an alpha lycanthrope. Being approved for Alpha status is mandatory before selecting and being approved for any Alpha level powers.
Alpha Lycanthrope Powers
The following abilities are only available to Alpha level Lycanthropes.
No Shift Coma
A normal lycanthrope once shifted must stay that way for 8-10 Hours, and then when they shift back to thier normal form, most lycanthropes are unconscious in whats called a "Shift Coma". This is just a natural process of the body readjusting to the strain and overcoming exhaustion. A shifter with this power does not experience the shift coma.
Fast Shift (Human)
The ability to rapidly shift back from animal/half animal form to human form. It works in the same concept that the lesser power Fast Change (animal) works. Cutting the actual shifting time in half.
Healing
A Major power. Rare and very powerful. With this ability, a lycanthrope can fully heal any non lethal wound. 100 Percent. No damage, no side effects from the wounds. The problem with this power is it doesnt come from a simple touch or from coaxing the animals energy to heal itself more rapidly. It has to be channelled through some ritual. Calling on anscestors, dead spirits of pack mates etc etc. The instances in which this power was used in the books, it was used by Raina. A very sadistic werewolf alpha that used sex to channel the healing energy, and it wouldnt work any other way. In any event, its a very slow process that once started has to be completed. the healing comes at the end of the ritual.
Partial Shift
With this ability, the lycanthrope can partially shift select parts of their bodies into animal or half animal form. The most common use of this power being the ability to partially shift the lycanthropes hands into animal claws for combat.
Control Change (Others)
Like being able to control the change in yourself, lycanthropes with this ability have the power to aide and help others , not just themselves in controlling their inner beast. They can calm and prevent a change or they can force a change should they want to unwillingly on the victim. An extreme version of this is where the lycanthrope with this power wraps a metaphysical hand around the inner beast of their victim and yanks it out of them, causing the victim literally explode out of their human shell and shift instantly all at once.
Share Power (Feed Pack/Pard/Rodere)
One of the few powers that instills instant awe in all those who find out a shifter has it. With this ability, by sharing actual blood with other lycanthropes of the same species, the lycanthrope temporarily shares his or her innate power level with all those who drink of their blood. It has an almost narcotic effect outwardly, but inwardly it temporarily increases the power and strength of all those who drink. How much of an increase depends on how much they drink and the power level of the lycanthrope with this ability. In general, lycanthropes who have this ability are considered very powerful.
Natural Rat Control (Rats Only)
A Wererat only ability. Wererats with this ability are able to call and control/command any natural rats in the area.
Call Munin (Wolf Only)
A werewolf only power. Its the ability to communicate with and call forth the ancestral werewolf spirits of the pack. All the former packmembers and draw from their knowledge and memories. This power is highly respected and highly dangerous at the same time. The lycanthrope generally cant choose which Munin (werewolf spirit) comes to their call. And sometimes werewolf spirits who in life didnt particularly care for the shifter can come through with nasty effects. Even including temporary possession.
