Dark Dreams is the culmination of two minds, each with previous solo projects, namely Fogg and Darkness. I myself created Fogg and Peter Quinn was the instigator of what is now Darkness Eternal, a Death Metal project.
Fogg was created out of my love for playing a guitar, my frustration at not being able to get a band together, and the inspiration of Iron Maiden! My earlier stuff showed potential, (In fact the first song I ever wrote was Blissful War) but lacked the quaility of a decent production and an outside perspective.
This is when I met Pete via our mutual friend, Simon Ormerod. At first Simon, Pete and myself were all going to record some music together, but then I had to move away. It was during this time that Pete and I started collaborating. The distance between us was a bit of a problem, but it did not stop us. Before we knew it I had written two songs and recorded them with Pete. These were Psychosis and Spirit Horse.
I then moved back to my home town (where Pete is based)
and things started to really take off in terms of songwriting. In the space
of a few weeks we had re-recorded Blissful War and written another song
called Oceans of Time. When this was completed we then went on to co-write properly for the first time on two tracks called A Winter's Tale and The Tempest. This brings us up to our first Dark Dreams Demo, Fogg.
