Will Smith was the second born in his family. He was born on September 25, 1968 to Caroline and Willard Smith Sr. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in the middle-class western part of it.

Will did well in school, mainly because he could charm his way out of trouble. That's how he got the nickname 'Prince.' The 'fresh' was added on by himself later on.

At the age of 12, Will got his first pop album, which inspired him to be a singer. Shortly after, he met Jeff Townes and began working with him. In just 8 short years together, they produced two platinum albums and had recieved a grammy award. One year later, Will spoke with Warner Bros. executive Benny Medina about his desire to start a career in acting. The next fall, the hit "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" went on the air and became a huge success. By then, Will had fallen in love with acting, and had decided to try his luck in the movies. His opening role in Six Degrees of Separation gave him the jumpstart he needed. After such films as Bad Boys and Independence Day, he hit the top of stardom.

Will has gotten great success in both his acting and singing careers. His albums have been awarded with 6 awards varying from Grammies to MTV awards and have been nominated for one Blockbuster award. His acting has even more behind it. He has won 10 awards with equal variety as his music, and been nominated for 13 others!
