Pierce was born in Navan, County Meath, Ireland on May 16, 1953. The first 11 years of his life were relatively without much event. At age 11, he and his family moved to England, UK, evidently on the same day Ian Flemming died.

Because he was from Ireland, Pierce had to endure bullying throughout his younger years, even though he was 6 feet tall at age 11. However, besides bully problems, Pierce had relatively no problems in school as a young boy. When he left school, he became a commercial artist. It wasn't until a co-worker introduced him to his theater group that he became interested in acting. It was at this point when he decided to leave his job to pursue his newfound joy. He went to the Drama Center in London and studied acting for 3 years.

By this time, Pierce had been on stage in the UK many times, which led to his breakthrough. In 1981, he was offered a role in the ABC-TV mini-series, "The Manions of America." This role was the jumpstart he needed to excel in his new career. Shortly after, he got a starring role in Remmington Steele, which truly began his trip to stardom. Then came Bond. As early as 1984, rumors that he was going to take over the role of James Bond were circulating around the country. Two years later, it appeared that those rumors were to be true, for Pierce was offered the role in 1986. Unfortunately, due to another contract, Pierce was forced to turn down the opportunity. 8 years later, on June 8th, 1994, he was unveiled as the 5th 007, giving him his most-remembered role to this day.

By now, Pierce Brosnan has accomplished many things. He is happily married and a father of five. As an actor, he has in many top films, playing a variety of characters. On top of that, he has also won many awards. So far he has won Best Actor for his role in Tomorrow Never Dies and has recieved a star on the Walk of Fame, and he has been nominated for several others. Pierce Brosnan is a man of accomplishment.
