Don't know where to start? Too bad.
I guess I'm not that mean. January Romance is a love poem, both for a person and for the ocean. Showering at Wright State was inspired by the creative writing workshop I went to at said university in 2004. Fall in Findlay is a love poem for the one reason why I love living in Ohio. And If is almost not a poem, but there's something sweet about it that endears itself to me. The Quick Stop in Gomer, Ohio, was written initially during the WSU creative writing camp (the prompt was pixie sticks). Saturday Manicure is from my freshman poetry writing days. Pop Culture Philosophe, a Findlay love/hate poem, has gone through a variety of incarnations. Map to Eden is a half-way decent love/sex poem. Dal Desert is a surrealist desert love poem. Saturday is a deconstructed sonnet. Thoughts at the Coffee Maker was written on the plane back from San Francisco -- ever noticed how the fog over San Francisco looks like thick grey fingers? Broke Down Clouds was inspired by James Joyce and Tiffin Avenue, and is a loose villanelle.
