Non commisioned scout ship Scavanger Vector approach to Promiska danuse It took all of two hours to establish who had the upper hand. Traci Reynolds didn't like the answer one bit. If it hadn't been for what had hapened on the colony a month ago.... She had come a fingers' width of respecting him...until he left her standing foolishly clueless on Isla Nublar while he and his group had rushed off to meet the invasion threat. Noone...and she meant NOONE made her look the fool and get away with it. Cmndr. Maevok had indicated on her record that she had not performed her duty in stoping them. Stopping them? She was supposed to go with them. While Clopin inducted Atreydes, she glared daggers at him through the screening panel. He had convinced her to help save the colony, and then stolen her transport cycle. He rescued the civilians, and left her to take the humiliation that followed. Jail hadn't been good enough for him, so she had her operatives release him, then began lobbying to grant him a position withing intelligence. _Then_ she convinced them she was the best choice to accompany him on his mission. If he hated this...it would be all the better. From the furious look on his face as Clopin talked to him, she knew he loathed the whole idea. After he stormed out of the holoshop, she jumped in, taking his confusion as a weakness, and pressing her advantage. She had _had_ him. Dazed, furious, and completely nonplussed, she had taken charge and herded him onto the Scavanger before he could collect his wits. They were warping it out of there before he even had the sense to ask her what she knew about this. "That Mr. Scott." she had replied crisply "Is on a need to know basis." His glare was pure gold and music singing in her heart. Then his anger was replaced by something that was almost like...thoughtfulness. He apeared to be listening, and he moved his lips sporadically. Traci was an accomplished lip reader, but he had lowered his head to hide them. When she indicated he take the controls, he had seemed almost smug. She wasn't about to lose the advantage. "We need to make contact with your old smuggling ring." She told him "As quickly as possible, for our mission is imperative. How soon can you estimate we meet them?" "Well" he replied,, with a grin she wanted to rip off his boyish face "It's really hard to say Traci...smugglers are a private lot, we appreciate our personal space." ::We...?: she wondered, hiding a snarl ::That vain, self centered...:: He slapped in a set of coordinants, and engaged the boosters. "What are you-?" she yelped, as they shot toward a section of spcae she _knew_ held nothing but a star going nova. "Taking you home to meet the family." he answered, slipping on a pair of dusky sunglasses. "I suggest you go in the back, we'll be approaching a nova tpe star, and I've only a single pair of this filtered shades. You ll damage your retinas." She growled, and refused to budge. Until the light became so pulsated she was forced to go. She wished the door could slam. Bonnie chuckled in his ear. =^you enjoyed that too much=^ "Well." he answered, smiling "you suggested it. Besides, it's better she not know where we're going. After all these years, that "nova star" is classified a known phenomena. It's quarantined and judged unstable. If they only knew..." =^Trey.=^ Bonnie interrupted suddenly =^you didn't leave the group under teh best of circumstances...=^ "That's understated to teh extreme." he corrected grimly "You know that it nearly came to blows. Mardi and Doni believed I was running out on them all. According to them, family doesn't do that." =^and you still did.=^ "Right. Hindsight is almost perfect lady, and it seems the straight and narrow is too crooked for me to walk on..." Traci tried her best to retake command of the situation, once Scott informed her they had arrived. It had taken all her control to ignore where they were going, but her orders had been clear on that score. She was not to endanger this contact in any way...and that included "peeking". Scott seemed to be taking her lead readily enough, although he seemed unduly tense. He explained that upon their encroachemnt on the smugglers' sensors, he'd been beamed further coordinates. She nodded. That didn't stop her from wearing her phaser. It didn't stop him from concealing one either. The two beamed in to twelve phasers levelled at them. She gasped in shock as he only sighed. An accusative glare darted to her companion revealed that this didn't surprise him a single second. "Well..." he managed, looking up at the row of faces "you never wrote either."
