Date: Thu, 01 Oct 1998 21:50:21 -0400 From: Teri-Chan Title Awakenings After Shinji left Stana leaned back against the hardness of the cot and closed her eyes. After the last whirlwind few days there had been precious little time to think so she tried to do that now. Not that this was an easy thing to do in the least. Her head was spinning from more than the throbbing in her leg. All that was apparent from this weird wacko "dream" was that it wasnt. Ok so she had held on to the hope that she would wake up and find this whole thing was just the result of the bad food at KU. That wasn't happening. So she would have to bvag that thought and consider the possibility that this was "real". Just then there was a knock on her door. "Stana?" "Teri?" she sat up eagerly as the other girl entered. "Are you ok? How are you feeling?" "Better..." Stana was getting the impression that Teri was lightyears away. "Hello? T-chan?" She waved her hands in front of the other's face. Teri blinked, and awareness came back to her face. She smiled: "Uh.. sorry, just tired. Is there any coffee or tea around here?" Thus distracted, it took another wave of stana's hands to regain Teri's attention. "Teri I don't like this whole situation one bit. I don't know where we are or how long we have been there but my parents are going to be really worried-and I am too to say the least." Teri bit her lip and plopped down on the edge of the cot, thoughts of coffee vanishing from her head. "I was thinking about that, actually. And... I don't know. I guess my parents will be worried too.." There was more that wasn't being said. "But..?" Stana replied. "Oh.." Teri paused and then met stana's gaze with a smirk. "I just don't get the feeling that we're leaving anytime soon." With a sigh, the older girl covered her face and lay back on the cot. "Yeah, I know what you mean." After a pause, Teri spoke again. "I don't really miss it that much." Stana's eyes widened underneath her hands. "If I could just find some coffee... and flush toilets..." she grinned. "Oh, and it just keeps getting weirder--" She reached over and pinched Stana, hard. Stana yelped and sat up. "Apparently I have some Empathy gift thing. Straight out of a fantasy novel. Hence burning myself raw, all that draining, and all that 'broad-sending' stuff..." Teri burst into laughing at Stana's expression. "I.. guess that does make sense.." she said quietly, almost to herself, and Teri stood with a grin. "Ok I think I have read as many fantasy books as you...and ancient Herbal lore seems to aply here...and not at home..." "Kinda cool, isn't it? Minus all the bad stuff." "Minus the bad stuff, yeah." Helping Stana up from the cot, Teri noticed the girl's limp and felt the rosed glow around her flash sharp with pain. She bit her lip. "You ok? Is that getting better anytime soon? Do you need a splint or something?" Stana smiled at Teri's naivete. "It's not really that simple. But, yeah, I think it's getting better. In fact, I think I can go out now. Care to help?" "Sure. We should find Shinji or.. Stana, have you seen Clip lately?" Stana threw her arm over Teri's shoulder and the two limped out of the bedroom. "No... have you?" Teri shook her head. "Not in awhile. I hope he's ok." Stana looked at her friend's face for a moment, then smiled, shaking her head. "I'm sure he is, don't worry about it." "Oh, I'm not.." "Sure.." "I'm NOT!" Stana started giggling. "Don't make me drop you, Stana.." The older girl stiffled her laughter. "Fine, fine. You're NOT worried about him. Now let's go."
