Teri Date: Tue, 12 Dec 2000 09:09:11 EST Subject: [FARPG] familiar woods The day was crisp and clear, but little light fell through the ceiling of branches above them. The sounds of the forest were loud around them, calmed in part by the presence of their elven guide. Teri rode easily on the horse- not due to her own skill but rather the superb training of Lyr's mount, and thought back to her last trip through these woods. IT had come upon her suddenly that morning, not soon after mounting and beginning their northerly route, that the woods felt familiar somehow. What a different time it had been then, when she and stana had first passed these trees... With her eyes glazed she watched the patterned patches of sunlight play on the forest floor- the soft moss that cushioned Stana and her companion, an embitterred young man of soft brown hair. It was the first time the four of them had been together- Teri, Shinji, Stana and Clip, long before they realized the roles that they were to play soon thereafter. Within these trees, the Prophecy had brought them together- and they had already begun to be played by the forces they knew so little about. Teri fingered again the pendant around her neck, and smiled inwardly. Somewhat bitter, somewhat amused at her situation, she gathered her feelings around her like a cloak, warming and keeping out the chill. Stana rebelled against her "fate", the fate Narada had dealt her. Teri found this strange, that Stana so thoroughly rejected the viability of the prophecy. To Teri the proof was obvious, the powers, the danger, the Temple, and the colored ropes that bound them all together. Clip to Stana, Stana to Teri, Teri to Shinji, not to mention the others in the game being played around her. Yet they were playing a game without knowing the rules. "Rules?" she thought. Rules were made to be broken, by some. Teri preferred to remake the rules her own way. To do this, she needed to find her partners once more. She broke into a smile at the thought of what might lie ahead, and tightened her grip on the reins. The horse perked up. "Why are we going so slowly?" she demanded with a grin as she bounded ahead. The others heard her laughter she took off into the woods.
